Hi MajorSky1, did you ever go back on the Ashwagandha Root? You seemed to have some real success initially, I'm interested to see if you kept it going and if you feel it's helping?

I have bought some, as well as Shilajit Extract and Quercetin. I'm hopeful it'll help as I've read some online reviews that were positive and say they have helped others with this condition.

I've been taking any accredited quercetin product for a while, and had good success with that initially, but it's been doing nothing for me for the past month or so. It's pretty expensive so I thought I'd try a few other things.
Age: 43 | Onset Age: 33 | Symptoms: Burning in urethra and tip of penis at meatus. Lower back pain and occasional dull ache in groin & testicles. Pain in coccyx and left side buttock when sitting | Medication: Quercetin 1000mg, Omega 3, Turmeric 1500mg, Shilajit Extract 400mg, Ashwagandha 920mg, Glucosamine/Condroitin | Helped By: stretching, rest, light exercise, sitz baths | Worsened By: sitting for long periods of time, driving, stressful situations | Comments: I'm 90% better and don't experience much burning anymore, but get the occasional flare. My main problem now is the sitting pain, which can be quite debilitating at times. I'm sure it's something to do with the exercises & stretching I've been doing as I didn't have this problem a year ago!

Scotcan are you cycling off the quercetin/Q-rol? Webslave had recommended 3-4 weeks on, 1 week off.
Age: 43 | Onset Age: 43 | Symptoms: burning in tip of penis/urethra has mostly faded; mild pain in right testicle; main pain comes from anterior levator ani spasm | Helped By: hot baths, healing time days after PT, klonopin .25-.5mg, meditation (trying to learn) |Taking: 100mg zoloft (recent onset of tinnitus), Omega-3s, VSL3 Probiotic, Q-Rol, Zyflamend, Chelated Magnesium 500Mg | Worsened By: anxiety, depression, thinking about it too much | Other comments: sitting and pireneal and most penis pain/burning is gone from PT but just developed pain after ejaculation coming from levator; some pain from sitting too long depends on spasm; listening to Jon Kabat Zinn helps; need to de-stress my life; my PT says I'm at rock bottom and it's a long journey so I try to tell myself to be realistic about how long it will take and that this takes time so I try not to let it affect my social life

I have been taking any accredited quercetin product constantly - 2 pills per day for about 5 months or so now. I followed the manufacturer's recommendations on dosage, they didn't suggest to cycle on/off. Do you find that helps?

I haven't taken Quercetin alone yet, but I've ordered some as it's much cheaper than any accredited quercetin product - Just to try it out. I should get that some time next week, along with the Ashwagandha root and Shilajit.

I'm cycling because that's what webslave recommended. I would think he'd expect us to do the same with Quercetin. Hopefully he chimes in here to give you his take. I think any homeopathic stuff we take should be cycled so your body doesn't get used to the properties and you lose its effects. I feel the quercetin has helped and plan on getting Q-rol soon.

[admin comment - yes, cycle all quercetin-containing products for best effect. I recommend 3 weeks on, 1 week off]

Ok I'll try and cycle, hopefully that's the solution.

The any accredited quercetin product really worked when I started taking it, I had very little burning in urethra/meatus and often none at all. I ran out of any accredited quercetin product and didn't take any for about 3 weeks at one point and the burning returned. Once I got back on any accredited quercetin product it subsided again, so this stuff definitely works!

Unfortunately the last 3 weeks the burning has been there constantly and quite severe at times. I hope I haven't made the quercetin redundant and ineffective for good now?

That's good to hear webslave.

I was thinking maybe part of the problem is that I've been taking some other supplements at the same time as the any accredited quercetin product (Fish oil & multivitamin) for the last couple of weeks. I know that you're not supposed to take any accredited quercetin product at the same time as antibiotics, do you know if it can be less effective if taken at the same time with other supplements?

I've been staggering them 2-4 hours apart, to try to make sure one has been digested before I take the other, for 3 days now. I'm feeling a little better, don't know if it's because of that or just because this flare is calming down a bit now!

Flares happen, regardless of whether you are taking quercetin or not. Multivitamins can cause flares, that's why Quercetin suppliers makes a special low-acid vitamin formulation.
