Dont panick, buddy...every flare-up has an end, although I know pretty well how difficult it is to deal with it...first days of flare-up I am always brave and after several days I am begging to stop it finally...
The flare-ups are devastating also for me, mainly because of the fact, that most of them are coming without warning, completely out of blue...Stress is the most important generator, more significant than any other external factor like food or alcohol...Checking your prostate might initiate it, but I would say that the anxiety related to it is the main factor.

I finally got some extra money and went ahead and ordered "A Headache in the Pelvis" I hope it will help me out cause I know I cannot afford that clinic out west.

Thank you for your reply Euro! Yeah, flares suck for sure. Today pain was pretty minimal, but I also was out and doing stuff so didn't have much time to focus on it. It's funny how better you feel when you don't think about it. :P

I just got a free sample of TRinoBoost in the mail today from Quercetin suppliers. Not sure why they randomly sent it to me but it was free so whatever.

But my question is, what the hell is this for and do I even need it? Will it help at all with CPPS?

Just wondering, how would Viagra (natural or manufactured) help with this condition? I don't know about anyone else, but when the symptoms peak with me last thing I want to do is anything sexual.
Age: 43 | Onset Age: 33 | Symptoms: Burning in urethra and tip of penis at meatus. Lower back pain and occasional dull ache in groin & testicles. Pain in coccyx and left side buttock when sitting | Medication: Quercetin 1000mg, Omega 3, Turmeric 1500mg, Shilajit Extract 400mg, Ashwagandha 920mg, Glucosamine/Condroitin | Helped By: stretching, rest, light exercise, sitz baths | Worsened By: sitting for long periods of time, driving, stressful situations | Comments: I'm 90% better and don't experience much burning anymore, but get the occasional flare. My main problem now is the sitting pain, which can be quite debilitating at times. I'm sure it's something to do with the exercises & stretching I've been doing as I didn't have this problem a year ago!

Cialis and viagra have shown some promise as a treatment for this condition, did you know?

Well I thought I'd give folks an update on my status.

As of right now and I am completely pain free and don't really have any symptoms. I bought the Headache in the Pelvis book and do a couple of the exercises there every other day. I've also started Cymbalta which is a Anti-depressant and Anti-Anxiety drug and it's changed my world. I don't feel anything going on down there and haven't for a few weeks now so hopefully this will continue or it could be a remission and could return, but if that is the case oh well. I'll deal with it when it comes back up.

Current Meds and Supplements I'm on:

Quercetin 3 a day
Cymbalta 1 a day

For the first time in a few months it feels like my life is back the way it was before all this started.

Hey Finallyover!

Yeah, the Cymbalyta side effort were ruff on me. I got dizziness and super sleepy. I talked to my primary doctor about it and he put me on Lexapro which is what I was on when I was in my early teens and it did help me, I just remember that the sexual side effects sucked but my doc also put me on Welbutrin to help with those.

As far as Quercetin goes there is a store called the Vitamin Shoppe and I get their brand of it. It's quercetin with bromelain. This just personal experience, but when I take it my pain goes down to a 1 and some times even a 0. I can hardly tell I have pain at all.

I've been feeling actually a lot better. I've ran out of my Quercetin supplament a few weeks ago and normally the pain returns after a couple days of not taking it but its been going on 3 weeks now and no pain yet so that new to me and gives me hope! :)

Hey Webslave...

The Urologist I went to when this all started, he gave me a Cystoscopy this morning around 8am my time and he spoke to my mom about it when she was there and said to her that he did see a little bit of irritation in my bladder.. I'm guessing this leads to more to a IC case? Your thoughts?

Not really. For instance I had irritation (inflammation) at the bladder floor around the outlet, inflammation in the bladder neck, and inflammation in the prostatic urethra. It's not a bladder OR prostate issue. The nerve branches involved innervate both areas, also urethra and even testicles.

Ahh, I see.. I didn't know this. I thought that if there was some thing found in the bladder that it pointed to IC. Hmm, intersting.

I'm guessing you've had a Cystoscopy in the past? Tell me.. how long does it take for this pain to go away. Everytime I have to pee I dread it cause trying to get it started, make my penis hurt like hell. Like I'm peeing out barbed wire., but thankfully the pain kinda goes away when the stream gets going, It's just getting it started that hurts.

Would love to know how long it takes to go away on average.

Hey Sorastar,
This urethral pain is a funny thing. In my post I noticed that I felt it affect me even I did excessive exercise. I think a lot of situps or squats and it lasted like 2 months. I had a PT son that seemed to make it go away for a week. I felt great. Then it came back after I hit the gym again. I get more of a cold sensation at tip and some burning but mild and goes away. I did run out of quercetin so I'm hoping it goes down after I start taking again. My PT thinks there could be trigger points to work on in abdomen. She said it is tight and when I press on the muscles in that area, I can feel the nerves affect the groin area and tip of penis. Hopefully this just subsides over time. It's so annoying.
Age: 43 | Onset Age: 43 | Symptoms: burning in tip of penis/urethra has mostly faded; mild pain in right testicle; main pain comes from anterior levator ani spasm | Helped By: hot baths, healing time days after PT, klonopin .25-.5mg, meditation (trying to learn) |Taking: 100mg zoloft (recent onset of tinnitus), Omega-3s, VSL3 Probiotic, Q-Rol, Zyflamend, Chelated Magnesium 500Mg | Worsened By: anxiety, depression, thinking about it too much | Other comments: sitting and pireneal and most penis pain/burning is gone from PT but just developed pain after ejaculation coming from levator; some pain from sitting too long depends on spasm; listening to Jon Kabat Zinn helps; need to de-stress my life; my PT says I'm at rock bottom and it's a long journey so I try to tell myself to be realistic about how long it will take and that this takes time so I try not to let it affect my social life

Post-cytoscopy discomfort ("pissing razor blades") fades in a few days, Sora. A week tops.
