"Chronic" just means this is a condition that lasts more than 3 months, not that it goes on forever.

This Sentence helped me a lot ! Gives me more hope, got the book now and there are too some "Success Stories" - so I keep thinking positive..

Just one more thing for now: PNE - means entrapment - so it would be possible that the Nerve is in entrapment between unrelated muscles which CPPS also stands for... So basically PNE is a symptom of Chronic pelvic pain syndrome right?

Means for me it doesn't matter which of them I have because when I have CPPS it automatically makes an entrapment of the Pudendal Nerve.. So the treatment is the same but with only PNE treatment it doesn't help me anything because the unrelated pelvic is still there and will always be an entrapment for some nerves there..

It's now like remove the causes, and relax the pelvis. And not like cure the symptoms (which pn and pne patients mostly do). Am I right?

And maybe that's a dumb question but what if I take benzodiazepines every day to relax my muscles?

Hey PleaseHelp!

The word Chronic scared me too. Forever means forever, but like Webslave said, chronic just means it lasts awhile and judging from what I've read around the web and what others have told me, you can get over this. It will just take a while. Months.. maybe even a couple years but you can get rid of it.

My battle started back in March and it's been non stop Ups and downs. There was a couple of weeks that I felt almost 100% symptom free and felt like whatever I had was over and gone but just the last 2 days my symptoms came back to visit :(

I'm lucky I have a good GP will actually listens to me and wants to help me figure it out too. initially every one thought I had I.C. and I was put on meds for it but that diagnosis is in question and I'm going to see a new Uro since the last one was a piece of ****

This is a good place to learn and get support from others who know what you're going through and advice from people who have been there and beat it.

:)

I'm battling now since 1 year, but just to PN.
So somehow I lost hope till I get here and saw 5-7 people talking about the same cause like me and have CPPS and not PN. When webslave told me about CPPS and I should forget PN I was sceptic first, but now it makes much more sense. So I will see Thursday an urologist and can now concentrate on CPPS - stretching, yoga, healthy food, broccoli therapy. I hope I can beat this shit, but like you told me, the forum gives hope & is a good place to talk..

The diagnose sucks, especially when you are young - and you are young too I see..

I read now through every post where masturbation was the cause.

Just want to tell my actual situation and need some answers and advice please..

At the beginning I had 24h pain, can't sit even a minute, driving car was horrible, masturbation hurt, after ejaculation even more pain for days.

My Situation 1 year later: No pain while standing, walking, running, crosstrainer, sitting on seat ring. Also no pain while masturbation and after it is not every time worse and not that long maybe 1 or maximal 2 days. I can drive a car for 20, 30 minutes and it isn't so painful anymore. Just sometimes a bit but no comparison to last year. The area where it hurts went smaller and the pain is sometimes an stabbing pain but mostly pressure pain.

The worst area is this
Image

Symptoms are getting better when I walk around or do stretching. While Stretching I can feel sometimes how muscles get more loose.
Also getting better through hot baths, heat sitting pad and a massage stick for deeper muscles and infrared light.

Now the questions:
  1. Maybe thats an unfair question towards the others but I see a lot of people having worse symptoms or more.. You read now my history. Am I on a good "stadium"? Do you think I made till today a good process and when I keep it up I will get my cure?
  2. I saw a lot posts that say without internal work you can't get fully cured. Is it necessary for everyone? Because I also don't found anyone in whole Vienna.. Maybe just a normal Physical therapist who knows CPPS and does things without internal TP work?
  3. I do take long hot baths and massage the perineal area and feel a relief. But I don't know hot to get to that muscle I showed in the picture. Any advice for that? I feel like I could never work this muscle out how the hell do I reach that..?
  4. Every now and then I fall back to drugs because I'm so deep in depression that I see no way out. 1800 members here and 143 Success stories - so not everone has the luck.. Do you see a good potential for me to get cured? And also do you think - when I don't fall back to Drugs (which worse it for the time) - that it will be much better?
  5. For me all aerobic sports make sence to relief muscle parts. So start again with jogging, crosstrainer, swimming?

  1. I think it's very possible you will get better and better, and that you are doing the right things
  2. No, not necessary for everyone, especially someone like you who has not had the condition for long.
  3. Don't worry about that. Get a vibrating massager for a surface muscle like that (e.g Wahl https://massagers.wahl.com/ or similar)
  4. Very few members write success stories. They get better and they want nothing more to do with this, and writing essays about it is the last thing on their minds! You WILL get better, so leave the drugs alone.
  5. You can do sports, but keep away from indoor swimming pools (chlorine gas can make the condition worse) and weightlifting that uses the pelvis e.g. squats

These are the words I needed, thank you webslave!

One more thing I want to know please.
  1. According to my causes: Drugs. And over masturbation (like a few people here). What is more possible: CPPS or Chronic Prostatitis? Because when it's Chronic Prostatitis I can help with medics from this site or broccoli diet or healthy eating etc.
  2. Can the urologist (appointment on Thursday) say for sure that it is this or that? Or is it hard to tell sometimes?
  3. I have this one. Is this good enough or should I buy one from the link you sent me - if yes could you possibly tell me which exactly? There are a few..

  1. CPPS and CP/CPPS are the same thing. Prostate and urethral inflammation is possible with CPPS too. That's why I recommend quercetin.
  2. Don't put too much faith in urologists. He is only there to clear you of more serious issues.
  3. That one is fine

Webslave has given you some great advice and facts! You can beat this, same goes for me, it will just take some time..

Having recently developed this condition also means we can fight it early on and get rid of it faster, at least that's what I think.

Yea you are right that seems logical, just have to remind me on these days I feel hopeless again :)

Hey webslave, had my appointment at the urologist.

We made a urine test before prostate investigation / massage a bit and after.
Before I had 0 Leu/uL Leucocytes and after I had 70 Leu/uL. And at "PRO Spur" a "star sign at this line" after Prostate investigation / massage. The star means something is different or special (but think in every country it's the same).
Next step is sperm culture and antibiogram. And then antibiotics - doesn't matter if bacterias or if not.

So I'm on a good way when there are results, right?

I would not take antibiotics just because of leucocytes (white blood cells or "WBCs"). They can simply denote inflammation.

ah okay, in first place we just wait for the sperm test and antibiogram, then we will discuss anything else.

Hey webslave, I'm curious. Since you've cured yourself and its been so long ago, have you ever had any flares? Even teeny tiny ones? And do you still take any supplments for it to this day?

Flares got smaller and smaller until they stopped, many years ago. After that the only thing that could cause pain was sustained eating of gluten (I have a problem with it, suspect celiac). I've been pain free for a long time now. Take no supplements, only a small bit of powdered magnesium for general muscle trigger points (I get them in my right shoulder quite badly).

Another important thing...

When I was diagnosed with nerve inflammation/damage - the doc said that I should sit as less as I can.
Now that I mostly know it is CPPS and from muscles or prostate I consider doing more things like I said, jogging, swimming, maybe some sports - and I want to start hiking again. But for hiking I need to drive always a bit. Is that a problem now? Is it contra productive to sit some time? As long as I can overcome that pain it should be no problem, right?
