since the flare up two weeks ago, have an appt next week with my GP to get an appt with a Uro.
wondering if anyone can recognize my symptoms for what it might be:
-frequency & mild nocturia. when I wake up in the morning there is always urgency to urinate.
-frequent gas
-occasional feeling of pressure in rectum
-occasional stiffness/pain in lower back (just above sacrum)
-occasional feeling of dragging in pelvic region
i don't have any chronic pain in the region, or pain after ejaculation or pain after urination.
flareups usually happen when i've had alcohol, or had to sit in a seat for long period of time (driving/flying)
any help would be welcome.
If not CPPS, what could it be?

I may be missing something here. Have you been diagnosed as NOT having prostatitis? If it's not prostatitis I guess your Uro will have a better idea. Not everyone has exactly the same symptoms and indeed these vary in themselves from time to time. Hope this helps - I'm no expert.

That's the broadest and best definition I've read.

wow, that is an all encompassing definition.
-positive on the catching colds often.
My GP, several months ago, told me I had Prostatitis (based on the symptoms I told him and a DRE) and told me to come back and schedule a referral with a Uro. Right after that, my symptoms virtually disappeared (other than frequency) and the summer was pretty clear, so moronically I held off on booking the appt, in hope that things were going away on their own.
