I started Flomax last week, the next day I had some severe lightheadedness. Mostly while sitting. I do take medicine for HBP, but I monitored my BP and it stayed fairly normal. But the feeling of just not being there got too severe, I called the doctor and he said I could go off of it. I tried skipping one day and the light headed feeling subsided. I tried it on a few more days and the light headed feeling returned.
Does this light headed feeling go away after time? Or is my choice urinary distress vs a light headed feeling?

Re: Light headedness with Flomax
Flomax may cause dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting; alcohol, hot weather, exercise, or fever may increase these effects. To prevent them, sit up or stand slowly, especially in the morning. Sit or lie down at the first sign of any of these effects.
Sometimes these effects fade after a week or two. Be very cautious driving while using Flomax (I nearly had an auto accident when I tried alpha blockers many years ago)!

Dang it, they can fade after a week or two. Ugh I've ceased the medication for two days, I will call the doctor after new years and talk about trying it one more time and pushing through those two weeks. And talk to my boss about not driving for work for two days. I had to drive the first day I was on it and it did scare me.
