Retraction of penis
Has anyone felt the sensation of their penis retracting inward to the lower abdominal when exercising? Feels like the pelvic muscle is pulling it inward?
Age:38 | Onset Age:25 | Symptoms:** Cystoscopy revealed extremely tight bladder neck with easy passage and tight sphincter**r/slight delayed urination/post urination dribble/split stream/difficulty maintaining erections with the need to urinate when actually erect (sometimes)/low sex drive | Helped By: sauna | uroxatralWorsened By: exercise/weight training | ther comments: Non Bacterial Prostatitis - started around 25..

Search the forum for the word 'koro'. Not saying this is your problem .... yet.

Re: Retraction of penis
Interesting - I'm sure "koro" effects some on a psychological level but I don't think this is the case. This is muscular in nature. I had read previous post mentioning the pelvic muscle going into spasm and the penis retracting/turtling (can't find it though...your post that is). I'm reading this is pretty common, and however happens only after intense workouts for me on rare occasions.

Re: Retraction of penis
Just be aware that a form of body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) that involves intense anxiety about penis retraction is not unknown in men with CPPS. Be on the alert to stop yourself going that route, especially if you are someone with anxiety or OCD issues already.

Re: Retraction of penis
I'd imagine it'd be normal for the body to shunt blood away from certain organs (stomach, genitals, etc.) to the necessary muscles while exercising, right?
Age: 26 | Onset Age: 23 | Symptoms: Neuropathic-like pain and hyperalgesia (lateral/anterior thighs mostly, but distributed throughout body); Pain (penis shaft, right side, when erect for long or excess masturbation) | Previous Symptoms: Pain (testicles; penis underside, mostly near base and running up urethra, sharp/burning; perennial region, dull; ejaculatory; post-ejaculatory); Urinary (moderate incomplete voiding; moderate frequency and pain on bladder filling); Sensations (cold in head of penis) | Helped By: Stretching (especially hip rotators and flexors); Yoga (especially lunges, warrior 2, and pigeon) Trigger point release (abdominals; iliopsoas; gluteus muscles and piriformis; bulbospongiosus & ischiocavernosus; thigh adductors); Meditation (mindfulness); Walking & Aerobic Exercise | Worsened By: Stress, anxiety, too much alcohol, lack of sleep, sitting at length | Current prescriptions: nortriptyline (10 mg, 1x at night; for CNS sensitization and IBS) Previous prescriptions: hydroxyzine (10 mg, 1x at night; for urinary symptoms/mast cell stabilization; useful), clonazepam (0.25-0.5 mg, 1x at night; for anxiety/CNS sensitization; useful for short time)

Re: Retraction of penis
Not to the extent of penis retraction.
Here is what I was talking about, more or less: Penile Dysmorphic Disorder

Re: Retraction of penis
Right, not to the point where it actually retracts in, but enough to where there might be a "feeling." I've noticed my genitals tucked in and more "compact" after strenuous exercise. I've always seen it as totally normal. (Thanks, body, for preventing all that from flopping around!)

Re: Retraction of penis
Yes absolutely, penises will retract when exercising. It's always happened to me. Stress/anxiety causes it. Cold causes it.
I don't think it's too controversial. The classic "George getting out of the pool" episode on Seinfeld.
