Also -- and sorry for the TMI -- but I just have watery BMs all day long. Probably 7 or eight of them today alone. Yes, I've been on Bactrim post cyst removal, but this has happened since I took longer courses of Cipro and Bactrim earlier on. My gut is thrashed. I eat fairly well -- but constant diarrhea.....

I'm not smoking -- so is it the nicotine in the gum possibly?

Yes, possibly. For the gut, take probiotics and eat fermented foods, like kimchi, yakult etc.

It's likely there's some cross-sensitization going on between the nerves in your bowels and in your bladder/genitals. When I get diarrhea, that flares my genital pain. You might have a similar issue. Work to calm your gut down, and that might reduce your pain.

Mornings

Post by MajorSky1 »

Had a couple ok days, not great, but tolerable and feeling like things were on a good upswing. Been working anxiety down, keeping mind off that and pain as much as possible
Then, this morning woke up with bad nausea, and feeling sick.
Found tightness in posterior of pelvis, by tailbone, tried to release it.
I started buspar Friday night, low dose to titrate up a little this weekend.
Nausea has faded a bit now.
How does one prevent waking up feeling so horrible? With the exception of yesterday, and a day or two a few weeks ago, it's the hellish norm to wake up into nausea, anxiety and pain that wasn't there the night before, nor all night long. I envision getting up out of bed and moving around and being active, but most mornings I have to wait until it fades, and it can take a couple to a few hours.
Is there a way to beat this part of it? Or does it just take time?
Age: 49| Onset Age: 47| Symptoms: Pain locations: Intermittent left and right front pelvic floor lateral to urethra; occasionally left side tailbone pain (rarer); left spermatic chord pain (become rare); Post BM-Pain helped by distraction during Bowel Movement.| Current meds: None. Helped by: deep breathing, mediation, hiking, distractions, exercise. Approximately 98% improved, varying depending on stress levels.

If you are waking up with nausea, then it's probable the nausea is not anxiety related. I forget: have you had a gastroscopy and test for helicobacter pylori?

Not yet. I see my doctor in 3 weeks and planning on bringing it up.
Gastroscopy - ugh, no fun.
Would probiotics or kefir help balance that out you think?

I've had 2 gastros, I refused even light sedation. Just control the gag reflex, and breathe with your stomach. Probiotics will not control H. pylori, no, you'll need a combo of antibiotics if you have that bug.

So are we talking possible ulcer here then?
Did you end up having H pylori?

Yes, and no. It doesn't have to be an ulcer, just gastritis. Worth eliminating that possibility.

Is it reasonable to assume that if I have not had any traumatic injuries to my tailbone area that the waxing/waning pain I have there is part of CPPS, and not a separate issue that I should have looked into? Never had it before this.

Was starting to feel a lot better for 3 days, then I went to see a movie late afternoon yesterday and the sitting caused it to flare up. This morning is uncomfortable.

Stubborn area of pain, difficult to get healed.

Did you put butter on your popcorn? That has been linked to flares in some studies - kidding! Perhaps bring an ice pack next time and settle it down on your tail bone or one of those adhesive heat patches?
