Could there be any correlation between a vericose vein in the testicals to CP/CPPS? Vericose veins as far as I know are caused by and lead to poor circulation in the area.
I think it could potentially play a role in the symptoms.
Can they be removed or treated? Who would you see about that?

akia,
It is my belief that varicoceles don't contribute to CPPS. I have a left-sided varicocele (the most common kind) and always have done. As far as I understand it the most discomfort one can experience from a varicocele is a dull ache from the testicle on the side that has the varicocele. I've never even experienced that.
Varicoceles are very common and I think if they played a part in promoting chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome symptoms we would see a lot more cases. My doctor has one himself too, and he certainly doesn't have CPPS.

Don't want to arouse your fears again, but I can't help thinking that there must be SOME sort of connection. Ever since getting chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome I have had an enlarged vein on my scrotum which brings on my symptoms every time I touch it. Also, my brother has been diagnosed with a varicocele recently - but as well as that (same as that??) he has other chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome like symptoms: for example, pain after masturbating and running. I have always thought that chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome has something to do with blood vessels. Not just because lightly touching the vein on my scrotum brings my symptoms on instantly, but also because damage to a blood vessel was what brought my problem on in the first place. Sometimes I wonder if chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome is ALL about blood vessels.....
This stuff is quite interesting

Could it be that chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome suferers - for some reason - do not totally drain off blood which accumulates for the purposes of arousal? Maybe excessive levels of pelvic blood flow, over time, contributes to that feeling of 'overuse': the feeling that you've had to much sex.

IC and verico
I was born with verico and I have had Cp/IC since I was 17, now 31 and have had very little success in controlling my pain. I will ask my doc about this, thanks.

varicoceles
It could just be that men with symptoms of pain are more likely to discover their varicocele.

good suggestion, innocent bystander.
i had a bilateral varicocele ligation at 17 because some hack uro thought this was the cause of my pain. sadly, no pain resolution and almost ten years of the same frustration we all experience.
no devastating harm done, but what a waste of time and energy and hope. also, I consequently developed a hydrocele on the left side (a complication of the surgery - 15-20% likelihood), which had to be repaired. so, all in all, a disaster.
get a few opinions.
