I thought you said you wrapped your penis? Just use a bandage with a velcro closure, or something similar. That will stop chaffing.

I do wrap my penis BUT whatever I wrap it with still touches the tip of my penis eventually causing pain. I was looking for ideas from other on what they do since Penis Tip Irritation is a BIG issue with many on this forum.

I have a appointment with a Urologist at North Dallas Urology which is affiliated with Baylor. The Doctors name is J Scott Hassell.

http://northdallasurology.com/dr-scott-hassell-md

I am just hoping for a diagnosis or something. I am tired and exhausted. If this is a bad choice, Please let me know. I picked him after talking with the Receptionist. She said he is in the Highest demand of all the Urologist at this location.

Well good luck, let's hope you will get something positive out of this. It's hard to deal with this condition.

My symptoms are still the same even though most of the pelvic muscle tension is gone now. Tomorrow I will go to the PT to test a new biofeedback device. It measures the tension of most pelvic floor muscles internally. The old measured the total tension, the new one is per muscle and at several points. So I hope there is still improvement possible. I suspect the perineum muscles. I also feel them spasm during sex.

Just wondering, can you lay on your belly at night or on the table at the PT's/Dr? I always find it very difficult because as soon as I do the penis starts throbbing which is quite unpleasant.

Neuronal windup. Nerves take time to heal. That's the final magic ingredient: time

This Urologist wants to scope my bladder and Urethra under general outpatient anesthesia due to my pain at the tip. This will be done at Baylor Hospital in Frisco, Texas April 17.

He does not rule out CPPS or Interstitial Cystitis at this point. He did a DRE and said my Prostate was around 35 cm and it felt normal. He does not believe its a prostate issue. All my Urine Cultures came back negative.

He said he would bring a Neurologist into this if nothing is found with the cystoscopy . I am nervous about being scoped but he feels this should have been done 2 years ago.

I am hoping I have finally found a Urologist who thinks "out of the box" and knows about IC and CPPS. He said we will find answers.

Ok good to have the anesthesia, I was somewhat tensed also and had only the numbing gel. So the scope didn't go in very smoothly. The urologist made the remark he always wins and pushed the bloody thing further inside. Nasty experience. Nothing remarkable found though.

I had a PT session friday who received a new bio feedback device which can measure more detailled in the pelvis at 24 different points. Turns out my left PC muscle is closely to full contraction all the time. Which is remarkable because it didn't feel tensed during the internal PT. The PT said this muscle can easily give the symptoms i have so we are going to work on that.

Good luck the 17th.

Well, I DO NOT have Interstitial Cystitis. My Urethra looked normal; My prostate looked normal etc. He went ahead and washed my bladder out with his "cocktail". I also had Hydro Distension of my bladder to look for abnormalities but all looked good.

He feels it is a nerve but wants me to wait 2 weeks before he sends me to a Neurologist. He does not believe I have CPPS but ....................

At least I know I can eliminate IC as the issue for Penis burning/irritation issue. Back to Square 1.

IC/BPS is a funny condition. It only presents with structural abnormalities maybe 10% of the time, so-called "traditional" IC/BPS. It's good that you don't have Hunner's ulcers, but it's entirely possible that treatments that target IC/BPS (dietary changes, hydroxyzine, increased water intake, Prelief, etc.) would help you. A diagnostic bladder instillation of an IC mixture (usually containing lidocaine) might help show whether or not your symptoms are related to the bladder or not.

Well, one thing that generally helps the burning is drinking baking soda mixed with water; generally I do this once a day; ½ - 1 teaspoons of Arm & Hammer baking soda with 8 ounces of water.

This entire situation is difficult to deal with. I am at a loss on what to do. My pain is ALWAYS worse in the afternoon hours also.

If that helps, definitely try Prelief with meals.

I want a opinion if I have CPPS. Here are my current symptoms:
  1. I have penis burning and penis tip irritation/rawness. It is better but not healed and generally flares in the afternoon.
  2. I have NO PROBLEM with Erection.
  3. My lower back around the waist line hurts at times but feels much better when I lay down.
  4. I do have HIGH Anxiety but the dang issue with my Penis is the culprit.
  5. I just want a opinion. The last Urologist in Dallas, Texas says HE THINKS something in my back is playing on a nerve causing the issue.
Thanks in advance

Well, you suffer from anxiety and your pelvic symptoms respond to diet, both things suggestive of CPPS.

Can you identify a life stress that could have caused the condition to arise when you were 54?

What is your height and weight?

I am 6'1 weigh approx. 205.In Jan. 2012, I had the beginning of my Heart issues. My Heart has been Good since Feb.2014.
I was stressed in 2012 about my heart. I had no idea I had Persistent AFIB. In June of 2012, I had swallowing issues caused from stress. Then in Sept. 2012 I woke up with this Penis irritation.
2012 was a challenging year for me.
The Urologist in Frisco, Texas wants me to go to Pain Management for possible help. My cystoscope procedure showed no issues with bladder, Urethra etc. He thinks its a nerve in my back.I have come to the understanding that MANY Urologist know ZERO about CPPS. This Urologist I went to in Frisco, Texas a suburb of Dallas was suppose to be one of the best but he feels its time for me to seek another specialist after the Cystoscope showed no issues. He also checked my Prostrate and said it felt normal and the cystoscope showed nothing irregular about my Prostrate.

I am reluctant to go to Pain management. I do have back issues but I have dealt with this with minimal stress since 2008.

I feel so rejected and do not no where to turn for answers.

It is very often the case that CPPS starts up in a very challenging time, for many of us, including me.
I have come to the understanding that MANY Urologist know ZERO about CPPS
Sadly true.
feel so rejected and do not no where to turn for answers.
I think going to more uros will not be helpful. But you could see Ragi Doggweiler who is in Knoxville, Tennessee
http://gsm.utmck.edu/surgery/faculty/doggweiler.cfm

At least with her, you'd get someone who is a true CPPS specialist and knows what's she's talking about
