Do I have CPPS? (I will beat this)
I often still wonder do I have CPPS ..I think so...never had pain in the rectum no pain in the perineum never had pain in the penis ....I have had pain in the hip flex ..lower abs just above pubic bone ..pain in my nuts..weak erections ..strong urge to urinate after sex..pain in side (left) just below ribs almost in the back..urinating all the time 20 -30 times a day...Very confused I been going through this for about ten twelve years ...Very tough the last four maybe five yrs..I'm much better now than I was a yr ago..Now days most of the time I only have pain in the lower abs ..weak erection still and I still pee a lot..I ALSO GET MORE DISCOMFORT WITH STANDING OR RUNNING I CAN SIT FOREVER

Re: Do I have CPPS?
It sounds more like the interstitial cystitis flavor of the disorder. Have you had a cystoscopy?
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

Re: Do I have CPPS?
The extremely high frequency of urination definitely points to an interstitial cystitis component. I'll note that cystoscopies won't catch all IC, as only a small proportion of IC patients have Hunner's ulcers, but it can confirm IC if they are present.
Age: 26 | Onset Age: 23 | Symptoms: Neuropathic-like pain and hyperalgesia (lateral/anterior thighs mostly, but distributed throughout body); Pain (penis shaft, right side, when erect for long or excess masturbation) | Previous Symptoms: Pain (testicles; penis underside, mostly near base and running up urethra, sharp/burning; perennial region, dull; ejaculatory; post-ejaculatory); Urinary (moderate incomplete voiding; moderate frequency and pain on bladder filling); Sensations (cold in head of penis) | Helped By: Stretching (especially hip rotators and flexors); Yoga (especially lunges, warrior 2, and pigeon) Trigger point release (abdominals; iliopsoas; gluteus muscles and piriformis; bulbospongiosus & ischiocavernosus; thigh adductors); Meditation (mindfulness); Walking & Aerobic Exercise | Worsened By: Stress, anxiety, too much alcohol, lack of sleep, sitting at length | Current prescriptions: nortriptyline (10 mg, 1x at night; for CNS sensitization and IBS) Previous prescriptions: hydroxyzine (10 mg, 1x at night; for urinary symptoms/mast cell stabilization; useful), clonazepam (0.25-0.5 mg, 1x at night; for anxiety/CNS sensitization; useful for short time)

Re: Do I have CPPS?
Have you ever tried hydroxyzine? It is a commonly prescribed medication for IC and bladder-related CPPS symptoms.

Re: Do I have CPPS?
Proper drugs are absolutely not cover-ups. In interstitial cystitis, the urinary frequency is caused in large part by mast cell degranulation, leading to release of histamine, which causes inflammation and further damage to the bladder wall. Hydroxyzine is an antihistamine that can break the cycle, helping to return your urinary function to normal. If you experience nocturia (needing to wake up to urinate at night), it will also help your sleep, further reducing your pain and symptoms, as proper sleep is essential to pain tolerance. Proper drugs are, of course, only a single component of the entire plan. If you read my signature, you will see that I have integrated drugs, physical therapy, meditation and relaxation, and other therapies into my plan to relieve my pain.

Re: Do I have CPPS? (I will beat this)
Activities like walking and standing can cause pain in CPPS. At my worst I even found walking difficult. It denotes severe trigger points in the pelvic floor muscles. Take magnesium supplements if you have trigger points that are this bad. Magnesium deficiency can lead to severe muscles spasms (tetany).

Re: Do I have CPPS? (I will beat this)
If you do a high-impact exercise like running, be sure to do trigger point release and dynamic (not static!) stretching before the run as well as static stretching after the run. If you can, purchase running shoes that match your running gait pattern.

Re: Do I have CPPS? (I will beat this)
That cramp sounds like an iliopsoas spasm. Not sure why an erection would cause that, but you should check for trigger points there.
As far as post-ejaculatory pain goes, do you mean pain on ejaculation or lingering pain after?

Re: Do I have CPPS? (I will beat this)
Today I got a burning sensation in my lower abs after ejaculation.... only when I please myself though. As far as the iliopsoas spasm I too thought that's what it might be but am at a lost as to why it happens when it does.

Re: Do I have CPPS? (I will beat this)
It could just be an instinctive guarding reaction. Try releasing your lower abs and iliopsoas, and see how that affects things.
