Hello gentleman,
I just got through referring this site to another site and have not visited here for quite some time. My how you have GROWN! Who knew? I have END STAGE, SYSTEMIC IC, TREATMENT RESISTANT TYPE, Vulvodynia, Vulvovestibulitis Syndrome, Pudendal Neuralgia- all treatment resistant types, plus chronic, intractible pelvic pain, Sjogrens, Allergies, Asthma, Trigeminal Neuralgia- to name a few. I believe I had IC since age 10, I'm 49 now, and I progressed into severe IC in 1982 WHICH WENT DELIBERATELY UNDIAGNOSED BY MY UROLOGIST. In 1994, at age 40, I began to get very sick and was heading into the End Stage phase- and I had no clue. I just knew I felt like crap. Fast forward and leaving out some personal details, 1995 I knew something was not right and sex became out of the question. No one had any answers for me, of course. By Jan of 97 I was a real mess and went rapidly downhill. I began peeing every 5 to 15 minutes w/the most intense pain I have ever experienced outside of the dysmenorrhea I had for 22 yrs until I was finally forced to have a hysterectomy in 1986 at 32. (I never did get to have my babies. I believe now that most of that pain was probably part IC) Anyway, I passed out in front of a patient's house in July of 97 & could not tell where the exact nature of the pain was originating from. I literally tossed a coin between my gyn & uro. I chose the uro. And on 8/8/97 I was given what I call my "death sentence" -IC- by that uro I had been seeing since 1982. He knew all along I had it and why he chose to ignore it will always be a mystery to me. I have been to hell and back as have probably most of you on this board. By 98, I went rapidly downhill, lost my job, my career as an RN, and what if any future I may have had. I've lost EVERYTHING. I was semi comatose, bedridden & homebound for all of 99 and '00. 2001 was my first VERTICAL year. I am so grateful to be able to move again. All treatments for both the IC and vulvodynia failed and I lived in an area (Los Angeles) which contains some of the WORST drs ever. By 2001 I was put on hospice/palliative care regimen of round the clock MS CONTIN up to 30 mg this yr every 2 to 8 hrs and Percocet 10 mgs same intervals, Pyridium 200 mg for the relentless burning, and for violent spasms- B&O 60 mg suppositiories. I am visiting this board to let every man who is SINGLE & forced to be celibate due to all of these diseases and hates being such know that I have a website for us- MEDICAL CELIBATES NETWORK (MCN). I also have a support group, Medical Celibates Network, which is open to both married and single people, and an introduction service for SINGLE MEDICAL CELIBATES called SINGLES SEEKING CELIBATE MARRIAGE. I happened to get struck down with all of this garbage while still single and I am painfully aware that if you can't have sex in any way, shape or form, dating and marriage are out of the question. We "Medcels" have every right to love and be loved just like the "normies" out there and I am way too stubborn to take "no" for an answer. If you are SINGLE and are seeking a relationship that consists of DEEP, INTENSE EMOTIONAL INTIMACY without the pressure of dealing with sexual intimacy, then please feel free to check out my websites & a few others listed on my LINKS pages on all 3 sites. There are many such introduction services springing up now for those who need a celibate marriage. I am finding that the majority of the women who join both of my groups have either IC or vulvodynia and the men are either impotent or have no libido. We have yet to have men with IC, Prostadynia or chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome join us, but they are most certainly welcome. My main website is Medical Celibates Network at: http://www.medicalcelibatesnetwork.com Please be sure to read MY STORY and browse through the LINKS section. The MCN support group, open to men and women, married or single, is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MedicalCelibatesNetwork The intro site for Medically Celibate singles, Singles Seeking Celibate Marriage, is: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SinglesSe ... teMarriage I would also like to refer you to CELIDATE at: http://www.celidate.org , and Celibate Relationships. This URL is tricky, so you will find it on my LINKS page on the MCN site. Note- these two intro sites are FREE. There IS hope for those of us who have been robbed of a basic human right by these hideous diseases. Dating is awkward enough, imagine what it's like being a MEDCEL. Being part of an introduction service specifically for people like us takes a lot of the pressure off when you dont have to worry and wonder how you are going to explain to your potential significant other about the "no sex thing." We deserve to be loved and give love like everyone else. I hope this info will brighten at least one person's day. Wishing all of you pain free- or at least COMFORTABLE days!
