The link you posted referred to a site run by a Filipino doctor who has claimed a 100% cure rate in the past, although nobody reported their cure at his hands on Usenet. My conclusion is that it is a scam (hence the removal of your link).

There is plenty in the Google discussion group and elsewhere negatively on this. You need to spend more time researching things. These guys (they are a fighting father and son which run competing businesses) basically give you a different set of antibiotics on a daily basis and milk your prostate. They have NEVER been published in any peer-reviewed journals. Their definition of cure is no bacteria (most suffering people don't have bacteria anyway).
If you spend time on this site (where our messages are), you will see in the last year-bacteria has basically been disproven as the causative factor in 95% of CPPS.
According to the latest research into this as a neuromuscular problem, you need to relax and worrying about fraudulent overseas businesses will just make you clench your pelvic muscles more.
Spend time in the Muscle spasm thread section and get yourself to Dr. Wise and the Stanford physical therapists if you have the resources to invest in traveling to bring this under control. No bullshit claims there, just a plan to reorganize your thinking and pelvic musculature to bring this under control. Good luck.

ugh! I just talked to someone in TX who went there. He is cured, but he did mention that others who went were not.....I found this info from http://www.prostatitis--dot--org/phonebank.html -- read in there, you'll see some people who tried this Dr., and were cured, although I can't contact them by phone. I bet you're right and it MAY be a SCAM! but dont you ever get the feeling your being scammed anyway? I dunno. call it youthful ambition.
shucks.

The person in Texas you talked to is probably Dave Trissel, who has remained the Internet's only outspoken proponent of the "Manila Protocol". Let us not forget that for some men, merely having a series of intra-rectal pelvic muscle massages is curative, whether or not these massages are called "prostate massages" and whether or not they are accompanied by antibiotics.

I'm glad Trissel is being honest with you about the fact that many other people haven't been cured by the protocol. Trissel was helped by it, but as webslave pointed out, some people experience dramatic relief from prostate massage alone; I believe Dave Trissel is one of these people.kcnola wrote:ugh! Why spend the money traveling to a foreign country, when a uro in your own country can massage your prostate?

I have seen more than one Usenet post from men who have been there and not been cured by the treatment after spending mucho dinero. Is it worth the trip? No, not IMHO.kcnola wrote:ok so I'm having a bad flare week and I;m surfing for answers and I find this website..

The "Manila Protocol" is a treatment of the past; it was popular years ago until people realized it wasn't a magical cure. If you read most of the recent scientific studies on prostatitis, you'll see that bacteria has pretty much been ruled out as a cause of cat III prostatitis, and to me, the idea that CP/CPPS is caused by an undetectable, untreatable bacterial infection that only one doctor in the world (located in the Philippines) can cure seems ludicrous.Someone please shed some light on this!!
