Valium the powerful

Post by ppp »

I was always the type that gets stressed more than others, exams, social events, what people think, what to do with GF, and work. I dream big, was never happy with a simple life, thus made myself some big plans that I have to live up to. But stress most likely led to CPPS and now there is rarely such a thing as "positive" stress these days. If I stress I am almost always less productive, less social,...

Enter valium. It is the miracle "cure" of all my stress and pain: 2mg and I am pain free for at least a day, I am outgoing, stress-free, in good feeling, ... Problem is, because of dependency issues, I take valium only in case of emergency, so it is maybe on average over the last 10 years of CPPS the frequency has been less than once every 60 days. Over the last 60 days it was more frequent than that, about 1mg biweekly.

Question: I am thinking of trying to get on a Benzo substitute that does not have dependency issues, but hopefully similar profile otherwise to valium/diazepam. Any suggestions?

After some reading buspirone seems to be a good choice. Particularly since I am really averse to sexual side effects from other drugs.

Thoughts very welcome.

Thanks

Valium is usually the benzo people use as a substitute for the more powerful benzos.

Another (mildly) anxiolytic drug CPPS patients use is the antihistamine Hydroxyzine (Vistaril)

It may be good to look at CBT as a long-term cure for stressing:

Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.
