I thought this sort of treatment went out with trepanation and blood-letting. Any MD care to comment too?
I'm new to this board, and I wish I would've found it a long time ago. I would've been in a better place right now. My urologist gave me Silver Nitrate instillations for sixteen years every four weeks. I spent four months of every year in bed. The last 2% instil Ihad just about killed me, literally. Five weeks later, I am still in a bad place physically and mentally. I have just discoverd that Silver Nitrate is not used any more as the main treatment. I begged my doctor to try something else, but he said SN was the only thing that would help my advanced case. I had 190 SN treatments, 42 of them under anesthesia. I need to know if there are any doctors available who would put it in writing that SN is obsolete. I am seeking counsel in this matter because I feel this man did not live up to the code of reasonable care, but I need doctors to back this up. Any idea who I should contact? Thank you so much.
PS I am a survivor and now treating at the University Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI. But I feel this man stole a good portion of my life, and I feel so betrayed. I need help as to what areas to search if I am going to pursue a lawsuit. I would like to know what percentage of IC patients are getting Silver Nitrate on a monthly basis but don't know how to find that info. Thanks again.
