Re: Need Some Serious Help (GARYS case)
This is strange. When I began using my wand internally I had diarrhoea for a few days (not like when you have the flu, just once or twice a day). It resolved, whatever it was from, and I've been treating that area since. A few days ago I moved the stopper on my wand to go an inch deeper. Man is this area sore!! I can really feel a burn in the external urethra which is where my main complaint is, but now I have diarrhea again. This area feels even more tender than where Tim set the wand, and that area took a long time to loosen up. Hope this area does the same. Just thought I would post.

Re: Need Some Serious Help (GARYS case)
Got a question for Webslave or anyone who might have this going on, I've been feeling quite a bit better following the Wise-Anderson Protocol for about a year and a half. However the thing that seems to still get me at times is a stinging in the urethra after my first urination in the morning. I'm not sure if its the concentration of the urine or the muscles used to urinate. For some reason i have a little trouble relaxing those muscles the first time i go. So my question is if this is from the urine being concentrated and maybe its from the nerves being over sensitive will this get better from the treatments? I drink plenty of water. Just curious because everything else seems to be moving along in the right direction also i think that repeatedly stretching the areas i can feel recreate symptoms will over time desensitize things (along with relaxation is that correct?. Thanks

Re: Need Some Serious Help (GARYS case)
Morning urine is more concentrated urine because it's hours since you last drank (and you've been breathing out moisture for all the time you've been asleep, which is dehydrating). Test this by urinating in a glass first thing and comparing it to the color of daytime urine. So not only is the urine more concentrated and therefore potentially irritating to the genitourinary tract, but it's also been sitting in the bladder a long time, giving it a lot of time to irritate the bladder epithelium (whereas during the day it is quickly voided).
Lastly, the presence of urine in the bladder as it builds up (the "storage phase") sets off a series of activities in the nervous system that will effectively stimulate the regional nerves and may inadvertently "goose" any allodynia-type problems you have going on. Read more at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urination#Storage_phase
Any or all of these factors could also be working in combination, or even synergistically.

Re: Need Some Serious Help (GARYS case)
Gary, my post-urination problem is just the opposite. I can urinate first thing in the morning without any post-urination urethra pain. As the day progresses, I get more pain after urinating. I believe this is due to trigger points in the bulbospongiosus. I have spasm-like activity after urinating, and I can feel a cramping where that muscle is located. It responds to moist heat, and sometimes cold packs. I think I have located two very small trigger points in the bulbo, and these tend to recreate my pain when pressed. I perform strumming massage on these areas twice a day, and I seem to be making very slow progress in relieving this symptom. Gary, have you been doing TrP release work on the bulbospongiosus? Webslave, do you have any thoughts about my situation?
This was not diagnosed at the W-A clinic, and so I've been figuring it out on my own. Gary, glad to hear you are feeling better. Same here. Joe C.

I think the bulbospongiosus is an often-overlooked problem area. I too had spasms there, and when I sneezed it would sharply hurt me.

Re: Need Some Serious Help (GARYS case)
Webslave, did you do anything in particular to treat that muscle?
I agree it is often overlooked. Tim Sawyer did not check the bulbospongiosus or ischiocavernosus muscles when I was in Santa Rosa. He attributed my post-urination pain to abdominal trigger points, which I do have, but that observation never seemed right to me and after I started getting significant relief from treating the abdominal trigger points, the bulbo spasm became easier to pinpoint.

Re: Need Some Serious Help (GARYS case)
No, I did not treat it, but that was many years ago and those pains have all gone now. I suggest you continue with the treatment of external TrPts.

Re: Need Some Serious Help (GARYS case)
Hey Joe, good to hear from you!! I was doing pretty good but felt I was missing something so I moved the stopper on my wand about 1.5 inches deeper. I found some very sore areas still at 11 and 1 o'clock. Since treating these areas I have been feeling a little worse so I'm just trying to give it time. Very aggravating but I guess its gotta be done. I try working the bulbo every other day with a tennis ball on my Theracane but I'm not sure if I'm doing it correctly. Its taken a long time to loosen the area I've been treating since going to California so this new area will probably take some time as well. Just trying to stay positive. Glad your making progress!! Take care.

Re: Need Some Serious Help (GARYS case)
Quick question, anyone else feel like their rectum/sphincter is swollen after internal treatments. I'm sure this has to be common. Never really had it before, its not really painful but more annoying and feels like I need to sit on the toilet and push. Just curious been using the wand for about 17 months and never had a problem. Only difference in treatment is I've been going a little further in which I doubt has anything to do with it and I've been warming up the lubrication ( nothing like tightening things up down there with cold lube) but it does seem like it make the lubrication more watery.
Thanks

Gary,
Have you been to an Osteopath to check if your pelvis is straight?
If it's twisted, you will be irritating the pudendal nerve which innerverates the bladder neck, anal sphincter and sexual organs.
The bum muscles will spasm as they attempt to stabilise your awkward walking posture.
Do you have knee cap tracking problems? Is one of your legs slightly rotated outwards?

Gary, do you still have symptoms about gas pushing on the bladder?
My symptoms are similar to yours (4 months now, burning after urinating) and now I have this feeling. I feel it only when I go to sleep. It comes in waves, and I can feel it at the same time as the gas "moves" in my bowel. Pretty weird. Two sleepless nights because of this, every time when I'm falling asleep this "wave" wakes me up.

garys update
Been away for a little while so I just thought I'd check in with an update. Went to California back in September of 2011 and followed the protocol up until about two months ago. Things were going pretty good and ended up missing several days of treatment. I started feeling a little better than when I was doing the work every other day (treatment left a little discomfort which is understandable) but the several days turned into a couple months with no treatment. Then had a couple bouts of diarrhoea from I'm not sure what, needless to say things are acting up again but so far not as terrible as it was. I also jumped right back into treatment again so hopefully I can get back to where I was pretty quickly!! Anyway hope everyone is doing better!!

Re: Need Some Serious Help (GARYS case)
Anyone had anything similar? Got back into my regular treatments again but for some reason now when I'm using my Theracane on my abdomen I'm getting bad lower back pain on one side and my rectum also feels swollen along with testicular pain the following day. I don't get this unless I treat the abs so I'm not sure if I really need to treat the abs. Also after internal treatments I'm still getting loose stools not so much diarrhea more like a wet fart (sorry) that you better not let go of unless your on the toilet! Just wondered if anyone had anything similar? I too was doing pretty well for a while but then of course stress and a terrible coughing cold that I've had for two weeks are I'm sure what brought things back on. Anyway just was wondering.

Re: Need Some Serious Help (GARYS case)
Think I found the problem. Its my psoas muscle. I guess all the coughing really tightened this muscle up and from what I've read this muscle can cause all of what I said in my last post. Now just need to loosen it back up.
