After not receiving any benefit from hot baths, I recently made an interesting discovery. I was spending time in a hot tub with a friend and since we were having a good conversation, I decided to stay in the hot tub for longer than usual (an hour instead of 20-30 min). I felt much better afterward, and I now believe that, at least for me, there's a huge difference between 20 min and 60 min of continuous heat stimulation.
I plan to take hot baths every day now for an hour, but I'm wondering if there isn't an easier way to get the same result. I recently came across something interesting and wanted to hear your take on it:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003XW ... ag=cp58-20
First, does anyone have any firsthand experience with a product similar to this? Second, what are your thoughts on "dry" heat vs. "wet" (hot bath) heat?
I also found something fascinating:
"The Journal Of Urology, Volume 25, No. 6, printed in 1936, contained a study from the James Buchanan Brady Urological Institute, Johns Hopkins Hospital, which described “striking success” using heat in the treatment of pelvic inflammatory disease and “uniformly good results in acutely inflamed prostates.""
It came from the following link: http://list.uvm.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A2=medli ... 2529-0700D

I edited the title of this thread to make it searchable for other members looking to buy this unit.
Heat is a tried and trusted remedy for this condition, dating back tens and maybe hundreds of years. Sitz baths were prescribed for prostatitis in some of the earliest medical textbooks.
We also have a thread on heating pads.

Re: Delwa-Star Thermo Therapy Unit
I'm wondering if anyone has used this and if so, how it went. Heating up the pelvis from the inside definitely sounds interesting.
Edit: Went ahead and ordered one today. Will let you know how it goes.

Age: 39 | Onset Age: 17 | Symptoms: Constant feeling of needing to urinate felt in the tip of penis. Frequency. Urgency. None of the typical pain associated with CPPS. | Helped By: Valium, Klonopin, and very hot baths, followed by lying down still/doing relaxation. Also made almost symptom free for a few seconds following a bowel movement. | Worsened By: stress, anxiety, skipping meals, lack of sleep, extended sitting, coffee, alcohol. NO other pain or discomfort although after ejaculation symptoms will usually get worse unless I lie still for 20 minutes or so. | Other comments: Symptoms began at the moment of ejaculation, disappeared after a few months and then returned a few months later and have not gone away since.

FYI - been using this 4 or 5 times a week for 6 weeks or so. No noticeable improvement yet.

Re: Delwa-Star Thermo Therapy Unit
lol I remember this device 2 years ago. There is a doctor in my country (I think the only one) which uses this as part of his approach (10 days)
- Injection of antibiotics from the anus.
- Heating up the area inside for 35-40 minutes with Delwa-Star Eco Therm
- Massage on the area inside with another electric instrument for 10min
No improvements as you said. I would feel better just having a talk with him about this condition, than using those instruments :)

Onset Age:26 | It was probably due to Upper Cervical Instability and a connective tissue disorder like EDS

Yes I thought it would be interesting to warm the muscles from the inside, but no success yet.

Hi Fobo, I wonder if the doctor you mentioned is Alqi Gjikondi, who claims a high rate cure within Albania...
