The trigger point wand has been cleared and is now available through prescription!

Excellent news. Can any doctor anywhere write a prescription?
Age: 39 | Onset Age: 17 | Symptoms: Constant feeling of needing to urinate felt in the tip of penis. Frequency. Urgency. None of the typical pain associated with CPPS. | Helped By: Valium, Klonopin, and very hot baths, followed by lying down still/doing relaxation. Also made almost symptom free for a few seconds following a bowel movement. | Worsened By: stress, anxiety, skipping meals, lack of sleep, extended sitting, coffee, alcohol. NO other pain or discomfort although after ejaculation symptoms will usually get worse unless I lie still for 20 minutes or so. | Other comments: Symptoms began at the moment of ejaculation, disappeared after a few months and then returned a few months later and have not gone away since.

Are we speaking about the Wise-Anderson wand?
Age: 27 | Onset Age: 26| Symptoms: Occasional penis discomfort (mild), primary pain is perineum - feels like I'm sitting on a golf ball, pressure in penis, almost like a stick is in my urethra, difficulty sitting for long periods of time, urinary frequency (some), incontinence (dribbling), right testicle pain (almost gone!), hip pain, stiff hips, lower back pain. Some abdomen pain. Just general discomfort in the area, post sex discomfort. | Helped By: External and Internal PT. Hot bathes. Supplements (mag, omega 3, vitamin b and D, prosta Q). Relaxing. Breathing exercises. Anti inflammatory diet. Stretches. Yoga | Worsened By: Stress. Core exercises, too much exercise, too little exercise, strenuous exercise. Sitting. Too much Sex | Other comments: Feeling better, but still not 100% I'd say I'm 75%

Yes. It has been FDA approved, and I'm getting details from Dr Wise about how it can be accessed by members.

If I want it in Australia, I can order it from Dr Wise, it costs $750 and comes with a manual and mp5 player, but it is highly recommended that you find a physiotherapist that knows how to use it and to go for a few sessions with the physio to learn yourself.

Bed88, I think that it is pretty essential to see a physio who can first find your internal trigger points so that you know what areas to hit with the wand.

Last I heard was it can be ordered for $750 if you are not in the States. I will probably go for the crystal wand in the mean time.

Does anyone know where to get the crystal wand deluxe here in Australia. Amazon doesn't ship here for some reason, even the international sellers. On another website, the cost is around $40 plus $40 shipping. If I can get something more reasonable priced that would be preferred. Thanks.

Bed88, if you check out my Amazon store (link below in my signature block), you'll see Theracanes and equivalent products that are useful substitutes for the crystal wand. There is one poster here, cppsdad, who used a Theracane to treat himself successfully. Other men feel the Theracane is too large, but there are other products similar to the Theracane with a smaller diameter endpiece, eg Body Back Buddy. You can cut it down to make it more manageable too.

Spoke to Dr Wise yesterday. This is what I gleaned from our conversation:
  1. The Wise-Anderson Protocol internal trigger point wand has been approved by the FDA and can be purchased in the US. It is by prescription and someone buying it must have training in its use.
  2. If someone is interested in buying the pelvic pain kit in Europe, which includes the wand, they have to be instructed in the wand's use by someone trained to do this kind of instruction. For those in Europe, they have trained PT's in Holland to whom they can refer people.
  3. Dr Wise will be in Holland at Amersfoort, one hour from Amsterdam, in late June 2012. There will be a symposium and training in the scientific basis and techniques of the Wise Anderson Protocol given by Dr. Wise, Tim Sawyer and professional colleagues who are experts in the treatment of chronic pelvic pain syndromes in order to to offer further training to European colleagues and to interact with and train European PTs. At this time it is under consideration to have an open session/meeting with CPPS patients who can attend to learn more about recent developments in the field, and hear European specialist PTs who will also attend. Interested people should notify Dr Wise at [email protected] of their possible attendance well in advance.

How do we get trained in the US (if we don't attend the Protocol)?
