Re: Need Some Serious Help (GARYS case)
Hey neue01, the only things I do for internal work is stretch the sphincter up down and to the sides, then I hook my finger in a little further and pull a little. I then use the wand about five to six inches in at eleven and one o'clock. I don't think I have anything going on where I hook my finger but I figure it doesn't hurt to give this area a stretch. I'm pretty sure my problem area is near the prostate because I have worked all around up there and haven't felt anything painful anywhere else. Good luck.

Re: Need Some Serious Help (GARYS case)
Hello everyone, just figured I would post an update on my progress. Next month will be a year since attending Dr. Wises clinic (can't believe a year went by that fast) !! I'm pretty sure I've made some progress (hit a bump in the road right now, but I hope that's just part of the two steps forward, one step back thing) ! Anyway as we all know healing can be very slow, but I have to admit I am way better than I was last year at this time, counting the days until I was going to California!! But right now I am not feeling nearly as good as I have for the past few weeks and that's got me questioning things again. But I have something new going on for the fourth day in a row now, its this buzzing sensation that hits my pelvic area for a few seconds on and off throughout the day (not painful) but it seems to have started after my internal work on Thursday. I've searched it and found some matches but still not sure what I hit or if I pressed too hard in there. Also noticed while having a bowel movement this buzzing feeling also made it feel I was urinating so I looked down and it just felt like I was but no urine was actually coming out. Weird. Anyway, hope everyone is doing well with their treatment!!

Hey GARYS,
That buzzing sensation. I have that TOO! From what I gather (based on searching on the forum) that is an indicator that muscles are, in fact, loosening up and releasing. Apparently its a good sign. Do not let it distress you.

Re: Need Some Serious Help (GARYS case)
Garys, I really want to wish the best for you. I know how a "new" symptom can throw you.
I had that experience today when my urethral area feels much more like it wants to urinate, particularly when I'm sitting flat on a chair. I guess it's more perineal pressure and it has set off some nerves or muscles. Also - recently - having a BM absolutely sets my urinary symptoms off. I had experienced this a few times before but lately it's been much more frequent.
I really miss my PT in Chicago and don't feel like I've improved as much here in CA. I would love to go back there and work with her but I'm not sure how to make that work.
I've been reading so much on this board lately about all sorts of things that I think I've just confused myself. I've thought about the Wise-Anderson Protocol clinic but just don't know if I have the resources (Time and money) to make it work. Plus when I work with my PTs they only tend to find external trigger points and nothing internal. However, I would think having a session with Tim Sawyer would be really helpful. I don't know how to get ahold of him - he's not easily googled.
Anyways - best of luck to you and I hope that you find continued movement forward.
- Eric.

Re: Need Some Serious Help (GARYS case)
Thanks for the response guys. The buzzing not to bad, but it must be connected to my main complaint which is at the end of urination. Couldn't sleep last night because now at the end of urinating I'm getting what must be a spasm maybe of the bulbospongiosus muscle (it really sucks) it causes burning and sense of needing to urinate more. The only thing I can think of is that I applied a little more pressure to the bulbospongiosus muscle during that treatment that seemed to have started the buzzing feeling. Now I'm not sure what to do. This is pretty close to my first symptom that started all this and its terrible!!

GARYS,
Have you tried place a heat pack right on the abdomen and penis (make sure you have a layer of cloth like underwear between the heat source and your skin) ? I do this after sex and it helps, especially falling asleep.

Garys, Sorry you are having a bad time and it sounds like you are developing some anxiety over this. Keep working the protocol and try Davy's suggestion.
Hang in there. We know it's a journey and diligence is key. Keep working on the anxiety component as that is a part of the healing process.

Re: Need Some Serious Help (GARYS case)
So I thought I would check in with what's been going on with my case. The buzzing feeling I was having last time I posted stopped after about 3 weeks of happening daily, I'm not sure what that was all about. I am almost exactly one year out of the wise Anderson clinic and like some of the other guys I was hoping I would be closer than I am to being completely well or close to it. But I am better than I was so that should be promising. For me things seem to get better, a little worse then a little better but the thing that makes me nervous is that I have dealt with this for almost half my life (I'm 38 now) and it seems like I have always been up and down with symptoms so its hard for me to convince myself my treatments are working although I'm sure it is. Which brings me to the point of my post, I do internal work every other day and after my treatment yesterday morning the urinary discomfort has returned (not as bad as its ever been by any means) and I know flare ups from treatment are common but I was kind of thinking after a year of stretching up there it wouldn't happen anymore (probably a stupid thought). Anyway like I said I've always been up and down with symptoms and this just has me aggravated. Hopefully its my one step back type of thing!! Hope everyone's doing well!!!

Re: Need Some Serious Help (GARYS case)
It took me several years of slow improvement to get completely better, and I believe DW reported a similar slow trajectory. Just keep on plugging away, and revisit the various strategies discussed here to make sure you're using all possible tools (just one example: how often do you lie quietly listening to deeply relaxing music?).
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

Re: Need Some Serious Help (GARYS case)
Thanks webslave, like I said its just got me aggravated and probably scared more than anything second guessing my progress when it hits you again like this. But I have to remember how many better days I've had since doing the treatments I was taught last year. It would be so easy if I just knew for sure its just a bump in the road to my healing. Maybe I went too hard on my treatment the other day or its just part of the process. Thanks again!! Oh and I haven't been the best at the relaxation so still need to work on that!!

Re: Need Some Serious Help (GARYS case)
The very fact that you are "aggravated and scared" shows a lack of the sort of tranquillity you need to get better.
You should try to work on that, as you say.I haven't been the best at the relaxation so still need to work on that!!

Re: Need Some Serious Help (GARYS case)
Silly question, can muscles get sore as they loosen up? I've been doing the same treatment for over a year (abdominal with the Theracane, stretching and internal work with the wand) and lately the lower abdominal muscles are extremely sore. I did a search and seen its pretty common, but its one symptom I've never had. I'm doing better so I was just curious. Thanks

Re: Need Some Serious Help (GARYS case)
Anyone experience this? It doesn't seem to be letting up. The pain is right below the navel and to the sides. I was thinking it was from the Theracane work but after a internal treatment yesterday when I got up I had it pretty bad. Is there anyway this is from overly tight muscles for so many years loosening up? I couldn't be damaging anything could I? Thanks

Re: Need Some Serious Help (GARYS case)
You could be treating yourself incorrectly. Lay off the self-treatment for a while and see if the pain subsides.
Pain in the navel area can relate to the appendix, inter alia. A visit to the doctor is a good idea, just in case.

Re: Need Some Serious Help (GARYS case)
Thanks webslave. I just was messing around with the Theracane and I can reproduce the majority of the pain in my lower abdominal muscles when I press on them. The strange part is that I've been working that area for over a year and have never had anything like it. Hate to back off yet, maybe I'll keep at it for awhile longer since it feels like muscle where I pressed. I was worried it was my colon or something. Could also be incorrect way I'm doing it as well or maybe I'm just aggravating tps.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
