Perineum muscles picture/question.

Post by N2Deep »

Hi,
I have a question about this picture below.

Image

In it you see the "sphincter ani ext." muscle entering the "bulbocavernosus" muscle, and it goes far up into it, my question is should you be able to feel the sphincter ani as it enters the bulbocavernosus with your fingers?

Mine feels almost as hard as ligament (like a hard chord), and have been able to make it noticeably less hard over time, but it still feels quite dysfunctional. And where the sphincter ani and transverse perineal meet its just hard, uncomfortable to touch, and spasmodic.

Any comments appreciated.

Painful spasmodic weak erections, perineum pain/pressure during erection, post ejaculatory pain. | Helped By: heat, internal/external TRP release, stretching, hydrocortisone (cortef), happy thoughts, good antiinflammatory diet | Worsened By: sitting, cold, defecating, catastrophic thinking/stress, gluten, dairy, all food intolerance/ gut issues.

I made this post a long time ago, just found it here, still would like to know what others think.

Where the transverse perineals and sphincter ani meet in the picture, is called the perineal body ... mine is rock hard it feels like a small knuckle (IS THIS NORMAL?), and where it goes up into the bulbospongiosis (as in the picture) it feels like a hard cord. With huge amounts of massage/Trp I can get it somewhat better. But every time I have a bowel movement all these muscles spasm up greatly diminishing any gain I get from massage.

I think this is the typical spot of pain for chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome sufferers, there is a junction of several muscles and this area is highly prone for forming painful knots...

Yes I also feel pain and spasm there. I feel that "external sphincter ani" is like a rope from coccyx to anus, and around the anus to the bulbo cavernous muscle. I feel I need to have lidocaine or Botox injected into this rope in area of connection to bulbocavernos (in clock 11, 1 of anus) to release the rope or decrease the tone, spasm and or pain.
