My Progress *w00t*

Post by bobby »

Ok so here's my progress so far after following the protocol for 3 months.
  • Feeling of foreign object in urethra, gone.
  • Irritated, hyper sensitive male specific organ, gone.
  • Tip of the organ pain, drastically reduced in pain level and frequency, more often than not no pain at all.
  • Urination urgency and frequency seem to be lingering but not nearly as bad as they used to be.
  • Very slight dull discomfort, most likely neuropathy from years of tight pelvic floor as well as other muscles near the pelvic floor, confident that over time it will clear up.
So I follow a pretty strict routine. Wake up in the morning, take amitriptyline, Omega-3 Fish Oil, and Quercetin and then I stretch. I stretch my inner thighs, hamstrings as well as take a pin roller to tight, hardened muscles in my inner thigh and lower glutes. I stretch my abdomen and at night I roll around on a tennis ball on my abdomen also on my glutes. I use the tennis ball under the perineum trick, which is quite uncomfortable but effective in treating trigger points there and then I repeat all that after work. I do self-internal trigger point therapy every other day. Constant relaxation of the pelvic floor which is becoming more and more of a habit. Not being so serious, relaxing mentally, no stress, no anxiety... just whatever. I see a PT every 2 weeks who does internal trigger point release as well as uses a mag roller on my glutes and hamstrings. I don't drink coffee and I have the occasional mountain dew and actually just this week decided to stop drinking, was doing a lot of that in the past 3 months because well I wasn't able to do it when it would cause flare-ups. So as long as I just relax I don't really have a problem. Things are looking up! So in conclusion, in only 3 months time I am feeling better than I have in 5 years. This is the real deal.

It's like a pin roller but with rubber bumps on it and its heavier. There really good for loosening tight muscles, but its way more effective if you have someone else use it on you.

I agree it is a real deal the more I do it the more I feel relaxation, stretching (full body) & big long walks are the most important but YMMV. The protection thing must be broken. That is hard and it takes a lot of nerve to do that. A lot of people with this fear starting to work a painful area - but they should.

I am chemistry and supplement free - in fact I am sure Wise-Anderson Protocol is also in that camp. I look to eat well and correctly instead of supplements by selecting foods - like fish and flax to eat lots of. I am really hoping Dr. Wise does some research on diet for us guys and publishes it in later editions. I have my own low carb palaeo anti inflam thing going highly advise researching that - it may tip you over the finish line.

FANTASTIC NEWS. KEEP AT IT. DO NOT GIVE UP. KEEP US ALL INFORMED. WELL DONE!!!

Kudos Bobby - I know that each of us is different but I think that the fact that you seem pretty regimented and have a protocol that works for you is a testimony to the fact that there is always hope - BUT you have to do the work.

This doesn't go away overnight and (in many cases) on its own.

Good luck with everything and thanks for sharing!!

Best to you!!

Elitynski you nailed it: "regimented". This is why bobby is doing so well. No I have never known, once it gets stuck, to go away overnight. It waxes and wanes via the spasms/stress and I hear that often and some think it is getting better via that then get disappointed it comes back and get stuck in that loop.

Once people can feel the wax/wane is spasms and not inflammation or infection (I am sure some guys have these but not many) and feel the pain is not in the organs directly they can begin Wise-Anderson Protocol like bobby and have success if they are determined like he has been. If you fail Chemistry what else can you do but Wise-Anderson Protocol!

It all gets confused via the functions of the pelvis, lack of anatomical knowledge of the muscles (yes even uros lack this). So people start thinking oh my bladder and prostate are inflamed and damaged when they are just irritated by all these spasms.

I liked how in Amy Steins book she matches the pelvic muscles to hands or the jaw (evolution wise they are the tail muscles and hence we still have control and some of us get stuck on this pulling and pushing on them and they go into spasms and form TP's and tighten the facia etc - i.e. we overload them). Clock that and you have found out this is a muscle condition as you can give yourself chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome pain by squeezing other areas all day long. I have chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome in my jaw but it is easer to get to go away as it is not as complex as the pelvis. It comes and goes when I squeeze and pull on it under stress. I don't even know I am doing it really until the pain starts up. Pelvis same deal in me.

Oh I saw a dental PT for my jaw they use the same stuff Wise-Anderson Protocol use BTW and have been doing it for decades with great success for "stress thinker" types. Stress make people tense and release muscles. Most choose the jaw easy focus but some go for the pelvis.

Hi Bobby, great to see results from someone around my age. Where were you taught your techniques, in particular the stretching? Did you attend a W-A clinic?

I did not attend the clinic, I would of liked to but I'm a balla on a budget lol. Most of the stretching I took from the book (Headache in the pelvis) as well as google and my Physical Therapist. Rolling my abs and lower abdomen on a tennis ball was something my PT recommended. The tennis ball on perineum trick I learned from googleing. I really believe the external trigger point release is quite important to anyone's recovery, probably just as important as the internal. I spend a good amount of time working the glutes, perineum, and abdomen with the tennis ball. I've had great success on the upper abdomen as when I first started working them they were full of painful spots but now I roll them and don't feel any painful spots at all. Relaxation also very very important, I do often find myself tense but I try my hardest to relax my pelvic floor. It's coming to the point to where relaxed is just default, I usually don't even really have to think about relaxing anymore. I'm looking forward and being quite patient to live without pain or discomfort anymore.

Yeah tennis ball idea is good. I started doing that also. You can work through the external soft tissues into the deeper ones doing this without hurting your hands - not to mention better reach. You tube has good examples you can extrapolate from if no PT.

The problem with internal is it is very messy and time consuming. Fine once or twice a week. But you can't loosen off when you need to with it. You just can't do that in the middle of a working day and keep encouraging the muscles to become rehabilitated daily! External stretching/massaging/tp & facia release should not be a second class citizen but an equal partner in the same way relaxation is. The great thing about external work is every PT on the planet knows how to teach it so everyone can get local advice and just DO IT. Wise-Anderson Protocol is great, the ultimate clinic, but it's geographical limit is well - crap. It needs to become the standard treatment for us guys via our own local medics as fundamentally this is a long term game and you need support in the community. It is not good us travelling to one group of people and having them treat us all...there is too many of us all over the world - Wise-Anderson Protocol must spread to other independent clinics and it is up to all of us when we see Urologists and PT's to shove A HEADACHE IN THE PELVIS in their faces.

I think bobby highlights determination to succeed is key and it means he is passing now beyond the threshold where the muscles are able to return to their bad state. TP's will be gone, facia released, fibres extended, relaxation now habit (which is the normal state) etc. This is why so many fail this they give up too soon and revert to meds and protectionism. That is the why this is chronic because it has a ping back nature (that is how soft tissues work).

I only refer to those suitable for the Wise-Anderson Protocol, just to be clear, I am aware some men are not suitable and still under the broad UCPPS banner and reading here.

Bobby how is your posture? Are you working on this also? I find it very helpful to make sure posture is in good order.

Keep going mate and keep posting your progress you help to inspire us all to keep this up!

My question is: do you work the perineum or glutes even if you have no pain there? I only have pain in the testicles and lower abs, weak erections.
Age:40 | Onset Age:29 | Symptoms:pain in testicles pain in lower abs urinate a lot weak erections | Helped By: steam room, hot bath | Worsened By: a lot of movement | Other comments: never had rectal pain or burning when I urinate never had perineum pain ..it all started as lower back pain

I work lower abdomen with tennis ball (I really think with it you can work soft tissue around the gland and urinary sphincter very well with it not just the abs). I do not use a ball on my perineum or glutes just yet. I use my hands carefully on the perineum as it is full of sensitive stuff. Theracane does well on glutes for me. I may alter this I have only recently used the ball concept...I think it is a great idea with potential!

On ED - your Corpus Spongiosum and/or it's blood supply could be being restricted by the soft tissues so my bet is Wise-Anderson Protocol would help you solve that tennis ball or not being used. Your perineum is best worked with hands first and you should learn about what is all down there before you use a ball on it. I would leave the ball until your happy you have basic external/internal work going well then progress into the tennis ball and skin rolling techniques etc. These are a bit more advanced really.

Everyone should start on basic stretching and paradoxical/moment to moment relaxation to see how things go...then internal...then the more advanced PT stuff. I see no reasons why you cannot ease into the Wise-Anderson Protocol ways. It is a long road after all.

Hey mike, how do you work your lower abs with a tennis ball? Do you lay on it?
Age: 35 Onset Age: 31
Symptoms: An almost constant feeling of the need to urinate all the time. Pain in the penis, at the tip, and "behind" the penis inside the pelvis. Also urethral pain after ejaculation. No rectal pain or symptoms at all.
Helped By: Hot baths, Dr. Wise's relaxation tapes. Internal trigger point work every two days with the Wise-Anderson Protocol wand.
Worsened By: Ejaculation (changes the pain to a burning sensation most times) Alcohol increases urinary frequency greatly. Falling "off the wagon" and not following the Wise-Anderson Protocol protocol.

Yes cobra style - tape 2 of them together "not just one ball" to spread pressure out. You won't be able to get deep without lying on it your hands can't provide pressure alone (you can try if you're strong of course). Of course don't be silly, use your hands/arms when in Cobra to adjust pressure. If you're fat or your arms arms are weak (cannot support you to adjust pressure) I would not do this as you won't be able to control it well - sort those out first. It is just the reverse of what the guys on you tube do with their backs. It is not a TP release BTW it is for facia and soft tissues.

Push your hands right up into the air as far as they can go...if you feel a sensation/tugging like you need to pee or pain in the pelvis being triggered...that is not normal and what I am trying to remove with this and it is working for me.

My main goal with it is to reach the urinary sphincter / gland / deep soft tissues in the front lower ab pelvic bone area. I am not really working the abs per se they just come along for the ride. So I am talking low down. I would say I think you can get like results with some ab exercises but they are more intense and use contractions - I seem fine doing those also - but remember they use contractions so be careful doing that at first.

Look, whenever you want to try a new technique (I am not even close to happy with all my programme yet I am always adjusting it), just play it safe. Tip your toe in the water. Take the tennis balls and use your hands - place them on your abs "gently" press in...work it up to the cobra...the problem a lot of guys have is they don't tip their toe, they bloody well leap straight in, sometimes scoring, sometimes failing, as we are all different! This is about control, like diabetics control themselves, not full blown cures overnight - so take your time be gentle with yourself as you learn. :)
