My story...Do I have CPPS?

Post by OrangAsli »

I probably going to make. Many grammar mistakes on the post. Please bare with me.

I have gotten UTI from unprotected oral sex before, at least I thought it was UTI. My bladder began to burn and there burning in my urethra. No discharge or burning with urination. I just had to urinate often and it seemed very little came out. I just took a prescribed antibiotic and it went away.

It's been years since this has happened to me. However, 4 months ago I received unprotected oral sex again, and I again had UTI. I went to the doctor, they ran tests and didn't find anything, so They prescribed amoxicillin. That didn't work, so I went back. My WBC is higher than 10. They give me Cipro and I immediately begin to feel better within three days. All my symptoms were gone. I felt completely normal on the 6 day, and because of that, I missed a dose of Cipro. I woke up in the following day and all my symptoms had returned. I finished the rest if the Cipro, and this time I went to my primary physician. She says I may have nsu or prostatitis. She prescribes more Cipro. The following day, I get the chills and a slight fever. I went to an urgent care clinic and they find blood and bacteria in my urine. The doctor told me to keep taking the Cipro, which I fear my infection has become resistant to because of my carelessness with the dosage. The clinic dr told me to go to urologist. I follow her advice.

The urologist says I have a "small" sti, and he gives me Zithromax and doxycycline. I took medicine for two weeks, my symptoms mildly were relieved. I didn't ejaculate during the two weeks. After completing the dose. I masturbated and a lot of clumpy yellow semen came out, and my prostate hurt. This has never happened since then though. After two weeks, I saw the URo again and he kinda gave me the cold shoulder about it all. He prescribed ibuprofen and Tamsulosin.

Month 2
I went to another urologist. He checks my urine and flow, and my prostate. He says I'm fine, and that I'm stressing myself out over nothing. My urethra still burns and my abdomen hurts. He gives me something called Uribel, which turns my pee blue. He tells me that nothing can survive the round of antibiotics that I was given. I still have to pee often, and now my bladder hurts when fills up.

Month 3.
Still no relief, the current urologist gives me Cipro again. I demand another urinalysis and a semen culture. I take Cipro for two weeks. No change. After I'm off Cipro, I begin to feel extreme pain in my bladder. I see him again and he gives me 10mg of a anti-depressant, because My urine and semen came up normal. I take it and feel horrible, so stopped taking it.

Month 4
By this time I feel like I have no energy, I can't get out of bed and I have severe brain fog. My abdomen burns, my urethra burns and sticky clear fluid comes (eps?). I'm always in a bad mood. Fearing for the worse, I make an appointment to see an infectious decease specialist. I beg him to help me. I ask for Bactrim, because I read that there's not a lot cross resistance to that old medicine. I gives it to me. I take it and 8 hours later my head clears and I feel my bladder loosening up. I can finally empty my bladder without pain.By day 5 on Bactrim the side effects are killing me.I have Headaches, insomnia, decreased cognitive abilities. I have a final exam soon so I stop taking it. Well that was two days ago. After my final, I plan to start taking the Bactrim again, hoping that my 2 days off of it won't create resistance. I currently don't have any rash (from Bactrim), and I feel good.

Should start up Bactrim again? Or am I just having chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome and Bactrim is only helping because of the anti inflammatory effects?.

I would not take any more Bactrim. You do not have an infection, as proved by the tests. But you are heading towards the early stages of CPPS, and you should pay attention to ways to avoid that outcome.

Greetings OrangAsli - I feel for you. Not sure what's going on but obviously you've been through 4 months of trying to find answers and navigating a confusing landscape.

Webslave - I really feel for this guy - is there anything you would suggest since he seems to be floundering at this moment. Clearly this guy has been through a round of extreme drug treatment.

I bit the bullet and went took the Elavil for a couple days. Surprisingly, all my symptoms vanished after a week or so on Elavil, the anti-depressant that I was prescribed. I think I should apologize to the uro who Prescribed it. He obviously knew what was happening to me, but I was too stubborn to realize. I do notice that I get sore all over my pelvis if I ejaculate. The pain dissipates after an hour or so.

He told me that probably never even had an infection to begin with. I thought he was a quack when he told me that... Perhaps I was wrong. I had multiple urine cultures and semen cultures and everything was negative, but I my body told me Something was wrong. This is all very confusing to me

I started to relapse a week or so while taking the Elavil. That week though, I ejaculated 5 times including a one time of sexual intercourse. I stopped taking it because it give me other side effects. Also my dribbling and split stream seems to be getting worse. I don't know what to do. I ordered Quercetin.

I started taking the bactrim again (before I started Elavil), which helped a lot, but the side effects were unbearable. I talked to the my GP and she told me to stop taking it. It doesn't feel like muscles to me. it's not a sore feeling, but a burning feeling. I feel so depressed and tired right now, and I can't get out of bed.

I would strongly recommend you stop masturbating and having sex, the contraction of muscles during ejaculation is causing your pain and most certainly keeping you in a state of constant discomfort/pain. My PT recommended I stop and since I have I have been feeling pretty good, not awesome but good. It won't be forever but just cool it for a while. You need to allow you pelvic floor to heal before you start flexing those muscles again just as you would with any other part of your body. Order the book A Headache in the Pelvis, read it and follow the protocol. That's really all I can recommend. Oh and also, relax your pelvic muscles.

I do have an extremely stressful life. I work full-time and I'm attending and accelerated accounting program (3 years compressed in to one year) at a reputable university. I had a feeling of problems one day after the oral sex and that does seem a little suspect. I masturbate quite often and I tense my muscles to ejaculate quickly. This is probably a bad thing.

I just got my free bottle of any accredited quercetin product in the mail. I'll try it and see what happens. I feel like I'm going crazy because I feel it's a bacterial infection, but multiple urinalysis tests, three 4 urine cultures, and one semen culture say otherwise.

Any urologist or clinic recommendations in the San Jose area?

A common delusion. Get over it; it will only hold you back.

I think you're right. I did a search for 'oral sex" on this forum and I got a quite a few unique cases with the same story as mine.

I have to say.... The internet is dangerous place.

I just started reading a lot the basic stuff on Trigger point and the Wise-Anderson protocol, and a lot of it makes total sense especially in my case. I have definitely been been tensing my pelvic muscles in what he called "a guard". I think I just had some sort physical trauma or maybe a type of "honeymoon cystitis" at first. It had gone on for a prolonged time, which freaked me out. That, combined with the mystery of so many negative tests, my intensive accounting program, and stress at work and life, really must of spurred this on. I am a really high strung person. This is making me remember the many times in my past in which I had mysterious pelvic pains.

My mom always has said I'm a hypochondriac, and that "something" is always wrong with me. In fact, I had a couple bouts with pelvic pain when I was teenager when I found I had a testicular cyst. it was completely harmless, but I definitely tensed up a lot when I found it ( I was always in a tense embryonic position) because I thought I had cancer. I went to many doctors and specialist and it probably cost my mom a lot of money. At first they thought it was a hernia, then it was something else. I took months for pain in my pelvis to subside. I had very expensive tests and CT scans done and nothing was found.

Then there was a another bout with mysterious pelvic pains, when I was freshmen in college and was working 50 hours a week and still maintaining a high GPA. I went to many doctors then, even the ER. I was given a clear bill of health every time. I remember having a feelings of malaise and tiredness back then too.

I say that the internet is dangerous place because there is a lot harmful misinformation out there. WebMD promotes a very dangerous type of anxiety especially for someone with my personality type. Worrying + google webMD can make someone really feel depressed and anxious. Additionally, there are some websites out there with a very loud presence on the internet that don't seem to be based on any type of sound science.

My second uro was really caring with a good beside manner, and I dismissed him as a quack because he refused to put me on rounds and rounds of antibiotics, which is a prescription I saw on a popular website. He told me I was on a vicious cycle of pain if I didn't stop worrying try to relax. When he prescribed Elavil, he told me "this is not a critique, but to relax the muscle and nerve pain that your having". That is when I really thought he was an idiot. I guess I was the idiot though. My faith in science was shaken, and started to believe in a lot of these wildly dangerous and unproven treatments (injections, etc.).

Anyways, I'm going to embark on this therapy, and hope for the best. I'm not going to let this control my life, which is what I have been doing for the last few months.

I've been taking Quercetin for the last few days (3 per day). And I've noticed an immediate improvement in symptoms. I don't seem to have any more pain in the prostate area. Knock on wood*** I just seem have a slight burning at the tip of my penis for now.

I don't understand what's going or what I've been going through. How can this happen so quickly? Why is this working ? Is this too early to be hopeful? I've been through so many mind altering meds, and this non prescription is all it took?

Anyone else have this experience ? It can't work this quickly right? And if it is, what does this say about my condition?

About 75% of patients experience this.

The hows and whys of any accredited quercetin product are fairly well known. It's a mast cell protector.

For a start, you can forget about an infection
