Re: Flu Shot-worsening symptoms- possibly life long
Bethree5- thanks for the input. Sounds like you are going through similar situations along with many others. I try not to let it get me down, but it is tough especially when you are told how "safe" these vaccines are and everyone was aware that I had this condition. I do not feel so alone anymore, but it is frustrating because many professionals still deny that vaccination caused my increased symptoms which there is no doubt. The most frustrating part is that I had refused vaccinations in the past and I failed to do enough research prior to this incident. I will never receive another vaccination within my lifetime.I hope to have some recovery, but I will never be the way that I was prior to the vaccination. Good luck. I wish everyone who posted wellness within their lives.

flu vaccination
I am still amazed that there are virtually no discussions or warnings two years later and there are no postings regarding possible chronic prostatitis reactions after receiving a flu vaccination. I still suffer two years later from worse symptoms two years after receiving a vaccination. My symptoms were very mild prior to the vaccination. Obviously this is an auto immune disease and that is why urologists have a hard time treating the true form of this disease. They are not trained to treat auto immune diseases and a reaction to a vaccination is a sign of an auto immune disease.

Re: flu vaccination
Nobody else has reported anything similar. It's possible, is it not, that you may be jumping to conclusions? Concurrency does not denote causality.
Human "autoimmune prostatitis" is not well supported in the literature. Rats that have autoimmune prostatitis caused by specific injections show gross changes (pathomorphological changes) to the prostate that are not seen in men with CP/CPPS.
It's also possible that autoimmune prostatitis does exist in a small number of men, but I have yet to see convincing evidence.

Flu Shot Worry
After reading Hunter123 warning about flu shots I'm a little freaked out. I was all set to get my shot which I do every year until I read his post. I am 58 and have never had a problem with the shot. Webslave would you please advise. I think you're saying that no one else has had any problem with the shot. Thanks.

Correct. I've had plenty with no effect, and there are no reports in the literature.
