New member - common problems
Hey all, I came across this forum couple of days ago and I really hope to finds some good tips from here and of course share my findings with you. I am from Europe and English is not my mother tongue so please excuse me for my language :)
My story started in September 2010 with Mycoplasma Genitalium got through oral sex episode. I got a quick treatment but my lymph nodes in groin stayed lightly enlarged. In addition I had quite constant morning discharge. It was totally clear and sticky. All the Dr's suspected STD so I got tested so many times for different ones including Herpes, Syphilis, HIV, Hep b,C. I got tested for mycoplasma about 4-5 times after that, always negative.
Eventually I met a DR who ran a test on my prostate secretions and he found inflammation. I got treated by 2 different AB but symptoms stayed the same. In addition, I started to feel mild pressure in pelvic region after ejaculation. It felt like something is stuck in my pipes and muscles to not want to let it go. Usually after few hours, some discharge was released and pain left. Oh, well, always after ejaculation I had a huge urge to pee.
I was directed to another DR who analyzed discharge and found Gardenarella in it. I was treated with 2 AB's (one was Doxy) to get rid of it. After that I started therapy. I was on Prostamol Uno (herbal stuff) and some vitamins. I had 7 mud bath sessions and magnetic therapy. First, it got a bit worse but then slightly better. I would say that pain after ejaculation was much milder and I did not need to run to pee instantly. But what I started to feel was a mild pressure in rectum or a golf ball sensation as it is called. It was not bad at this time.
Then I had another prostate secretions test which still showed inflammation, no bacteria found. It was in May 2011. The DR put me on Relifex and Xatral. As soon as I started this treatment, I feel pressure in rectum on daily basis. Usually starting during lunch time (while sitting at the office), it would disappear after walking, jogging, laying down, hot baths. I would say that this is my most annoying symptom - I cannot sit for longer than one hour. I even purchased device called MAVIT, developed in Russia to heat and massage by prostate. It offers some relief but I did not really find it any better than hot bath.
As inflammation still exists, I will work with the DR's and take prescribed pills. Dr. asked me to start taking Cialis, 2,5mg per day as well. Haven't started with that. His explanation is that we need to raise the blood supply to prostate to overcome issues. Hope he is right.
About alcohol - he said that you can drink but not much. 2 glasses of beer or wine should be enough. I would say vodka works better for me. Had 5 vodka cocktails over the weekend and did not feel any difference.
I should stop now, pretty long story. Good luck to all of you!

How do you know? How many tests showed a positive result for mycoplasma, and how was it treated?Jann21 wrote:My story started in September 2010 with Mycoplasma Genitalium
Treating inflammation with antibiotics is specifically discouraged in modern urology. See Dr Shoskes's tip for urologists.Eventually I met a DR who ran a test on my prostate secretions and he found inflammation. I got treated by 2 different AB but symptoms stayed the same.
Quercetin can help with inflammation in the prostate (for approx. 70% of patients). In addition, I started to feel mild pressure in pelvic region after ejaculation. It felt like something is stuck in my pipes and muscles to not want to let it go. Usually after few hours, some discharge was released and pain left. Oh, well, always after ejaculation I had a huge urge to pee.
Xatral is an α-blocker, which you need to take for 3 months before deciding whether it is helping or not. Relifex is nabumetone, a NSAID. NSAIDs are not usually helpful. The DR put me on Relifex and Xatral.
The blood supply to the prostate is usually increased in chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome (according to a Doppler study), so that's not how Cialis may help. There are reports of Viagra/Cialis helping some men though.Dr. asked me to start taking Cialis, 2,5mg per day as well. Haven't started with that. His explanation is that we need to raise the blood supply to prostate to overcome issues.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

Hey, thanks for the quick feedback. I had a swab test from urethra. They are using PCR method. First one was positive. I was treated with Ofloxacin (10 days, 2pills per day). Later I heard that it is not the best treatment for Mycoplasma. I then gave 2 urine tests over 2 month period, one swab, once from secondary urine after prostate milking. All negative.
What's the best site to order Quercetin? I am from Europe.
What would be the other options to fight with this condition?
thanks in advance,
Jann

PCR can give false positives. Don't ever take antibiotics again for this condition. For Quercetin, click link in my signature. There are lots of other options, so keep reading the forum.

Re: New member - common problems
Currently the most annoying symptom is still a pressure in rectum. It seems to be activated by prolonged sitting at the office. The strange thing is that I am almost symptom free until 3 PM and the feeling kicks in. Then it would last for few hours, then will be gone again and sometimes would return just prior going to bed. And I wake up without any issues again. Strange thing happened yesterday. I was on a meeting for 9 hours. We had some breaks but I was sitting for most of the time. All I felt was a numbness in my arse but no pressure feeling at all. Then after the meeting we went to a bar, I took a glass of white wine and sat down. I had few sips and in a minute or two I started to feel pressure!! It then lasted for hours. It probably takes at least an hour for a wine to reach my bladder so it could not be from drinking. Is my mind playing tricks on me?

It does not take an hour for alcohol to affect the bladder.

Re: New member - common problems
I have now supply of vitamins for 3 months (E-vitamins, Bio-Zinc Selenium, Prostamol Uno, pumkin seed oil, fish oil). In addition I ordered Cernilton from Russia and started taking those. I am trying external massage exercises described on prostate-massage-and-health.com to increase blood supply. I am not going for self drainage (yet) but I have tried to ease rectal muscles by inserting finger to rectum (few centimetres) and gently pressing the muscles around. Too early to say if it helps but the exercises seem to improve blood stream there.
What is is puzzling me are my symptoms. After stool movement in the morning or then during lunch time, I always have an urge to pee. It usually takes around 30 minutes when I feel that I need to go. So as I see it, my bladder is not totally emptied during stool? Anyway, if I then pee after 30 minutes, I have a slight burning in tip of penis. Again, it does not start right away but maybe 5-10 minutes later. And it may last for 30 minutes to an hour. Usually I need to pee once again to get rid of that burning sensation. And after that I usually have no issues peeing throughout the day.
Urge to pee comes around as well after ejaculation. I have learnt that I have to hold back for 30 minutes before I go to pee. otherwise I might get some pain in groin area for 1-2 hours. Ps. for last few times after ejaculation, I have a slight pain in my right testicle. I can feel that the veins in testicles are pretty enlarged at this moment.

One addition - guys, do any of you get the morning discharge? I have it almost every morning. It is transparent and sticky. Sometimes I wake up and notice my penis head is moist, sometimes it comes out just after the first pee.

None of these symptoms are unusual, and none are worth worrying about.

Re: New member - common problems
Thanks a lot. BTW is there a link to some exercises I could do at home to minimize pressure in rectum? I know I should order the book but it would take long to reach me plus I am kind of short of money after buying all those vitamins.
And any sufferer from Europe, especially from Nordic Countries? I'd like to add quercetin to my diet but haven't found any good source to buy it yet. Ordering from US is too expensive and time consuming, would prefer to order from UK, Sweden, Finland or other country nearby.

Got pure Lambert's quercetin, no worries with that. I have another symptom which worries me. It has happened now twice. During ejaculation I feel something is squeezed inside me. It is pumping like a heart. It does not hurt at all but the feeling is so obvious. What could it be? Is it a sign of something getting worse?
I really appreciate your feedback.

Re: New member - common problems
Hi all, I've done lot of reading on the site now. In the beginning I was trying to try everything out I found on the site but obviously it was not a good idea. At least some of the exercises I tried made me feel worse so I stopped. I had another visit to my urologist. Another Nickel test was performed (after 3 weeks on Relifex) but inflammation was still there. Urine was clean but the number of WBC's in prostatic fluid was still too high. So I continued with Relifex but did not see any change. Not taking those any more.
I visited another Dr. to get second opinion and he said that prostate has to beat the inflammation by itself - no point in taking AB's or other stuff any more. He put me on different vitamins (e-vitamin, Serenoa of repens extract, zinc selenium). I added Cernilton by myself and now waiting for the delivery of Quercetin.
I complained about this fullness in rectum feeling as well ( this started approx. 1 month ago) and he advised to visit PT. PT asked to take an X-ray of lower back before visiting him. So I went there, he examined x-ray and said that my levator ani muscles are stretched out (too loose / don't really know how to put it in English). As they went for vacation, all they could do was to teach me 8 exercises. Believe it or not but all those exercises are to train my abs to stretch back levator ani muscles. I really hope those help because it feels great to heal yourself and get a nice 6 pack at the same time :)
I am now pretty much on my own as the Dr. returns in mid-august. I will keep working on my abs.
Now about my symptoms.
I have noticed that I get the same fullness in rectum feeling while masturbating (I need to do that because my Dr. did not allow to have sex with my girlfriend without condom and we really cannot get it going on
) especially when I am sitting in the bed. Then I realized that I am really stretching my pelvic muscles and it causes discomfort. I changed the position and now I kneeing down - much easier to relax my pelvic muscles then.
Sorry for bursting it all out but you probably know how anxious you can get about this condition.

- Morning discharge. It does not happen every day any more but it seems that if I have consumed a bit alcohol, I will have discharge for sure. I guess that is because inflammation is still there.
- Fullness in rectum - after starting to work on my abs, this feeling is not constant any more. Sometimes it is triggered by prolonged sitting but most of the cases it seems to be connected to bowel moment. I then lay down on my back and relax. Usually it goes away after that. Seems that doing some abs exercises provide relief as well (still investigating that). Of course hot bath would help.

If these are "Kegel" exercises, they are the wrong ones.Jann21 wrote:So I went there, he examined x-ray and said that my levator ani muscles are stretched out (too loose / don't really know how to put it in English). For most men with this condition, stopping alcohol is good idea.if I have consumed a bit alcohol, I will have discharge for sure.

I do different variations of crunches. I am not sure if those are the same as Kegel exercises.
I know that alcohol is probably not the best idea right now but I have major difficulties to accept that I cannot be the same person I used to be. It is so stressful for me.
Could I get rid of this fullness in rectum with exercising and external massage, etc? Or internal is definitely needed? I have no such specialist in my country.

Re: New member - common problems
Hey fellow sufferers! had a really relaxed weekend, with minimal rectal discomfort. Now as Monday started, I got really anxious again, took half a Xanax and calmed down. There is one thing I keep thinking about. It seems that in majority of the cases people's pelvic spasms are caused by shortening of pelvic floor muscles. In my case, pelvic floor muscles (levator ani) are stretched out. I would assume women would have those muscles stretched out after giving birth?
Would it be then right approach to do crunches to shorten those muscles a bit?
