Can prostatitis cause this(especially while pain is absent) - weak stream/straining to urinate/incomplete voiding?
My uros have diagnosed me with prostatitis and/or CPPS. But I'm worried that I may have a rare case of prostate cancer for someone so young because I haven't heard that prostatitis or chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome can cause these symptoms. Has anyone ever gotten a UTI due to urinary symptoms(blocked flow/incomplete voiding) from CPPS?

weak stream/straining to urinate/incomplete voiding
Age:24 | Onset Age:19 | Symptoms: frequent urination, slow flow, perineum pain, penis tip pain, sometimes lower and upper back pain and foot pain, erectile dysfunction, depression. | Helped By: QUERCETIN, Low carb diet, elimination diet, proper progesterone levels, hot baths | Worsened By: Increased DHT(dihydrotestosterone) from TRT, carbs/sugar, food allergies, not masturbating
Re: weak stream/straining to urinate/incomplete voiding
It's rare beyond belief...reportable really if someone your age has prostate cancer. Take that worry off the table. UTI's definitely can be a result of incomplete bladder emptying but a UTI is easy to diagnose. Even without a UTI if you have flow issues I would recommend urodynamics and specifically video urodynamics to assess your bladder neck. Primary Bladder neck obstruction is a possibility and more common in young males with "BPH" type symptoms (decreased flow, increased frequency, increased urinating at nighttime). I believe this can then lead to some prostatitis symptoms due in my opinion to increased straining and overall pelvic irritability. PT and stretching along with the things you mention such as diet and Quercetin can help the pelvic irritability. But I believe if you have documented bladder neck issues then a TUIP is warranted. Good luck...

Age:44 | Onset Age: 16 | Symptoms: Initially poor/split stream (like a shower), minimal and periodic pain/burning/tightness in perineum. This has worsened over the years. The voiding/retention issues were helped a lot by BNI at 32 but never normalized. Recently have developed frequency and nocturia. Also more burning after sex/defecating. Feel a more generalized fullness in pelvis most of the time. Not really pain. | Helped By: Rest, relaxation, stretching, eating healthy | Worsened By:caffeine, alcohol, sex (at times) constipation, sleep deprivation, straining, bike riding
Re: weak stream/straining to urinate/incomplete voiding
I have similar symptoms and have for some time. When I was 34 (almost 39 now) they found a tiny bladder tumor in my bladder. He was doing a cysto for prostatitis and there it was. It didn't help me taking it out, as a matter of fact I dont think I have been the same since. I had to have a cysto every 3 months for a year after that, then 6 months etc. Thank God I never had another instance of tumor but the prostatitis is always there. Like the other poster said , prostate cancer really rare especially at 24. I do believe prostatitis/CPPS contributes to those urinary issues. I was actually on the board to search for some things to help the same symptoms you are describing. When I was 30 I had stricture disease. This is sort of a blockage caused by scar tissue, infection or something like that. They need to do a cysto to determine that.
As many times as they have been I have never had a bladder neck problem. I think you should talk to your uro about it and he might want to do the cysto. I get mine in a hospital knocked out. You might want to look into supplements. I am at a point now where I have such a sensitive bladder area it always feels like I have something in there. So of course when I go, it trickles out.
I use this sometimes when the sitting pain is bad:

I know its probably the Beta Sistosterol in the Saw Palmetto but I like to use this anyway. I am going to order some more and dose it 3 times a day. The other relief I have it Clonzepam which is for Anxiety. Go to your Uro, get the cysto. It sucks but let them take a look and you will have peace of mind. My 6 month visit is in 3 months. If I am still having issues I am having him go in. He can also order some urine tests to see if there is anything else going on. Prostatitis has no link to cancer. It just sucks. Hell, he might even give you Flomax or something like that. For urinary symptoms there are a lot of options.

Re: weak stream/straining to urinate/incomplete voiding
Thanks for your reply. I just got a transrectal prostate ultrasound today and doctor said it showed completely normal. Says that it must be from anxiety or neurological tightnening of something. That would makes sense with CPPS. I'm wondering tho, since I don't have pain anymore from CPPS, is it possible to have chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome without any pain in the prostate area anymore. I mean I feel slight tingling sensation sometimes but it's more of an overall tension, and I have lower backpain, etc.

To answer your question... Yes.
My first symptom was difficulty urinating with pain at the tip of the penis. I didn't get the golf ball feeling until quite a bit later.
If your pelvic floor is tensing up on the urethra and prostate you will have urination issues.
