So I am doing really well now, probably about 85-90% back to normal.....it varies a little from this depending on the day, but this is basically how I am overall.
I've been going to physical therapy about twice a week for 5 weeks and that is helping, meditation twice a day, working out a few times a week is helping, taking more frequent breaks from my computer at work, eating a very disciplined and healthy high fiber diet is helping, I have been taking 10 mg a day of Pharmaceutical Grade fish oil for 2 weeks, and that has really reduced my inflammation.
I am able to tell my inflammation has gone down because when I get a flare(less often than it was, and usually lasting only a few hours), I don't have that tingly(not pain but just sort of irritation/tingly) feeling in my bladder now.....it just feels like I have to go with less urgency than before.
So I am guessing that since I have no pain, and don't have that inflammation feeling in my bladder(pharmaceutical grade fish oil reduces inflammation in many conditions), I probably have some residual nerve damage from having this for a year.
Is this nerve damage something that goes away over time, if the sensory stimulation/cycle of pain/inflammation is broken?
I seem to remember reading something about that in Dr. Jerome Weiss' web site about getting rid of whats causing the irritation(self perpetuationg cycle) before the symptoms can abate over time, and also something about Dr. Wise's protocol usually reduces pain before the frequency goes down since the frequency is usually nerve related.
So is this something that living well over time could reduce, or is there a supplement I could be taking like b6?
I would doubt there is many studies on this or anything since its' pretty new therapy with few studies on this point, but any suggestions would be good.
What can you do for nerve damage?

I don't know if the nerve damage is permanent, but in my own case I have found it improved over time. Anyone else?
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

Jd,
My expereice from nerve damage is the same as Webslaves. I injured a toe once and a nerve got damaged. That took 10 months to heal. You also have said that you have been close to 90% for a while (before starting fish oil and PT), do you feel better after starting the PT and fish oil also?
Also when will you consider Heparin or other meds like some here has done with good results?

Hi Paso, I don't think I was actually 90 percent for a while....seeing how I am feeling now, I was probably closer to 70 percent. My frequency, urgency, and overall discomfort have seriously improved over the past 2 months, especially past 3 weeks.
I think it's a combination of all the factors I listed earlier, that have helped me improve, but I think the PT probably helped the tightness in my pelvic reigion which effects things while the fish oil seems to have helped in another way regarding inflammation.
I'm not an expert on this so I can't say for sure, but I am definitely improved, I can tell because when I am in a flare now, it feels noticeably different than it has over the past year.
And no I don't think I'll add anything since I am doing well with my protocol now, I do still take 50mg of hydroxyzine at night.

jd,
You mean 10 g (16 capsules), right? I have been taking 5 g (8 capsules) for two weeks now (Pharmaceutical Grade for the last week).
I had my best day ever on Sunday since I developed IC/CPPS in January. On Sunday my symptoms were so minimal I may not have noticed them had I not been looking for them. The last two days have also been good, although not as good as Sunday. I think my recent improvement could be due to the fish oil & zone diet, daily paradoxical relaxation (I just got Wise's tapes 2 weeks ago), time, or simply chance. I also had two PT sessions in mid July, but they don't seem to be as temporally related.

you can only order it online, I guess its too expensive for health stores to carry it. it costs about 70 dollars a bottle, which is expensive, particularly because you're supposed to take high doses for inflammatory conditions. At the levels I take, I will be spending close to 200 dollars a month on it.
However, when judging by the potential effects of it, it could be worth it....and since I am eating a healthier diet now(I used to eat out WAY too often, at least twice a day) that is much cheaper, I can handle paying that.
You should go to a bookstore and take a look at Dr. Barry Sears' 'OmegaRx Zone' before you go into it, most of the book is about his studies and suggestions for fish oil.

I take the liquid omegarx....2 teaspoons is about 10g worth.
