Curcumin...Has this been looked at?

I don't remember if this has been researched or looked at to aid in the anti-inflammatory fight. Sorry if this is old news...Just thought it might be worth looking into.

I encourage anxiety prone UCPPS people to consider L-Theanine
Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.

I'm also curious about this one. Has promise. Check out what people are saying about the product "Curamin" in chronic pain and inflammation, particularly with regard to muscular pain syndromes.

This is interesting! I use turmeric every day in herbal tea, along with cayenne pepper and ginger. I put these all in my porridge and when I'm cooking with every meal I put turmeric on garlic and onions and fry them. It's great in rice. It has anti-cancer properties and can be very helpful in inflammatory conditions like ours and arthritis. Our dog had arthritis in her back leg and as a result hopped around on three legs, we put turmeric in her food and still do and she's back on all fours!
Every plant and tree and shrub was put on the earth for a reason, medicine needs to revert back to the more simplistic and hollistic approach.
Age: 25 Onset: 23. | Symptoms: Burning in urethra, urinary frequency/urgency, 'golf ball' in butt syndrome, muscle tension form pelvis to calves, constipation, IBS, testicular pain/inflam, bladder pain when nearly full, difficulty relaxing muscles (coccygeal, levator ani etc.), pain and muscles tension in anus/perineum. Helped by: quercetin, relaxation, baths, heat packs applied to perineum. Worsened by: Stress, driving, sitting, jogging, caffeine etc.

Yeah, I'm not sure I'd go that far, but holistic and alternative medicine does deserve more attention and respect. Problem is that there is no money in it for the pharmaceutical companies who conduct or fund most pharmacokinetic type research.

I found these capsules on amazon the other day. I might give it a shot after my quercetin experiment I trying now. I picked up the spice but I am not to fond of the taste to eat it more than a few times a week.

I took big curcumin pills twice a day for a month (can't remember the dosage...I think they were Jameson brand, something well known) with no effect.
Age: 26 - | Onset Age: 23 - | Symptoms: painful urination, painful ejaculation, cold penis, chronic pain through perenial area and penis esp. at tip of penis, penis desensitization, general pelvic discomfort and pain, dribbling, shooting pains up to abs, VERY easy loss of erection - | Worsened By: cold, sexual activity, alcohol, stress/stressful/strenuous activity, heavy lifting, concentrated urine, marajuana, hiking downhill, running - No Effect: stretching, acupuncture, mindfullness, relaxation, meditation, a blockers (alfuzosin, tamsulosin), antibiotics, painkiller, muscle relaxents, valerian root, quercetin (3 months...tried twice), low oxylate diet, herbal tinctures - Currently Trying: Lyrica 450mg/day + Tegretol 600mg/day. Seems to help a little, but the withdrawal + possibilities of worse pain make it scary to go off...
