HI all<
I had a bad bacterial prostatitis flare-up which lasted a few weeks but that antibiotics killed. It got really bad inbetween my doctors appointment and getting the antibiotics - worse than it's ever been.
I've been left with pain after masturbation that lasts for days and in the last week no sexual feeling in my penis or night time erections.
Do you think my body is still smarting a month on from being so under attack? I'm really worried so all positive thoughts welcome.
Regards,
Steven

masturbation
Your body is telling you to lay off the masturbation and let itself heal. It is that simple.

Really? Like the brain reprogramming itself? I mean literally nothing. And I have constant perineum pain too. I just want to feel vaguely normal. I'm 31 FFS.

I'm not far from 26, have had this (albeit to a lesser extent) since I was a teenager. Normalcy comes in time.
When you give the body the proper conditions and treatment necessary to heal, yes, it can 'reprogram' itself to some degree. Central Sensitization is a complex neurological concept, but the nerves are basically subjected to abnormal sensations for so long that they are then perceived as being normal. Fortunately, this can often be reversed. There are other terms worth examining on the boards, such as allodynia and neuronal windup.
In a post of yours from two years ago, I've noted that you do not believe the Wise-Anderson Protocol is for you, nor physical therapy of any kind. May I ask why not? At this point, in your shoes, I wouldn't see the harm in having an examination done by a qualified PT.

I am not a physician. This is not medical advice. Consult your doctor!
