Your thoughts on Dr. Filler's MRN scan?

Post by SteveMalk »

I have found that Dr. Filler in California has a special MRI scan that is called an MRN, in which it only identifies and shows the nerves only. I've read mixed reviews of this online. I do know it is not cheap and I've heard their staff is not too friendly at all either.

But I have thought this kind of scan may be a good thing to have done.

Have any of you heard of the MRN? What do you think...worth the time and money?

Steve,

I've had one of these scans. I would say the utility of an MRN scan depends on the outcome of the scan. If nothing is found, you might feel comforted, but you still have your problem. If something is found the ultimate outcome would be a decompression surgery which has not proven effective and could end up costing you 50,000 bucks for a Filler surgery (not covered by insurance - experimental) - plus the 4000 for so called diagnostic injections and 4000 for the MRN. I would say it is not worth it unless you're willing to have a surgery if something is found, or unless you're looking for peace of mind if nothing is found.

I agree with you Snoop. I've heard that many have been "found" to have some sort of entrapement, but surgery still doesn't help. So the accuracy is still not 100% correct.

Honestly, I think sticking with my PT on my own and relaxation is best. In my past, I've already had the PNMLT, injections, etc. and nothing worked or helped...so the pudendal nerve was pretty much ruled out.

I think I just got classic pelvic floor myalgia. Why? Who knows. That is the million dollar question.
