The thing is Bill was treating this condition for 5 yrs or so without any training at all. He promised me and another patient he would go to America and get proper training. This went on for months, being lied to, saying he would go. It was only until I decided to go to America myself for proper treatment with another x patient of Bill's did he then get training in Ireland with Stephanie and Liz, and then that was only a 2 day course.
So what about all those patients that were getting treated when he had no training at all in this field? We were just "trial and error" patients, not good

Re: 10 months in and counting
I have to respond to this, I am sick of certain people on this forum bad mouthing Bill, especially when they know nothing about him. There are reasons why Bill hasn't been to train in Stanford and he has tried, its not as simple as you make out, Bill also has a far greater knowledge of chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome than he is given credit, maybe people should ask him how he got into treating it in the first place, he has learned a hell of allot and before treating men he has worked with female pelvic pain so it not like one day he went in a completely different direction as some of the mechanics are quite similar. Bill always seems to be expanding his knowledge as well on the best ways of treating chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome and uses various different techniques which go beyond just treating trigger points. As for Flumps accusations, I do not believe them for one minute, you should not be making claims like that on here, if this really happened you should have taken action, I think you are just bitter because you have tried varies different routes with little success, I do hope you get better, but accusing Bill of being gay and practically fisting you is beyond. Suicide isn’t allowed to be mentioned but slandering somebody’s reputations seems to be completely fine on this forum and all we have is your word with no backing behind it. I have been seeing Bill for some time and have shown massive improvement, not even far off from having no pain and so have allot of other people, despite what this forum might push towards that we all go to on the wise and Anderson protocol and hum in a log cabin there are actually other places that treat this conditions, isn’t it funny how they barley get mentioned. I suspect my account will be blocked and this message will be deleted as most that defend Bill are, I don’t really care though, this forum can be very negative and is ruled by people who have bits and pieces of knowledge and then proclaim themselves experts, which is a very dangerous thing in itself. That being said if this message is removed it will only help prove what I already suspect!

You are welcome to defend Bill. I do not delete messages unless they are completely over the top. Whether or not Flump has made it all up is an issue for the reader to judge.

Re: 10 months in and counting
I think the claim that moderators declare themselves to be experts, thereby endangering posters, deserves to be addressed. All moderators express clearly in their signatures that their statements are not medical advice, and doctors should be consulted. That is our philosophy: exhaust the reasonable - meaning non-quack - medical options, and then look at what we have to offer in terms of ideas.
I've never claimed to be an expert, pre- or post-moderator. Someone who has read a lot, spoken to a lot of people, volunteered a lot of time (at no financial gain), yes. An expert? Someone with a medical degree? No. This is why, prior to giving advice, I emphasize that my opinions are those of a layman. I'd invite you to go through my posting history and find one occasion where I did otherwise. In fact, where any of the moderators did, past or present. Note that I've not been a moderator for quite some time, and so I have no ability to go back and change things.
I have not attended the Wise-Anderson Protocol clinic. One day, when finances allow, I'd like to. There's more to it than "humming in a log cabin," as the studies show. I support Doctor Wise because I have spoken to him about my case, and I tend to think that he actually gives a crap. The man stands to make a lot of money from potential patients, but he has turned down people he thought he couldn't help, or those he thought might benefit from local assistance first. These are not the hallmarks of a greedy scam artist.

I am not a physician. This is not medical advice. Consult your doctor!

Re: 10 months in and counting
I do not think the Wise Anderson protocol is a scam, maybe humming in a log cabin was a bit harsh as I was pretty angry at the time, I do really think David wise cares he knows the hell of this condition. I am just saying there are other options, they were not the first to come up with this treatment, and they just added relaxation into the healing process and brought together a pretty good team. I do own a headache in the pelvis and I still recommend it to people if they ever want to understand Pelvic pain (mainly physiotherapists and Gps) as it is probably the best form of mainstream literature on CPPS. On the subject of medical advice, people will listen to it even if there is a disclaimer on it, especially vulnerable people, lots of us who have chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome consider our selves experts because most Doctors, specialist etc know nothing of it and most of us probably do know quite allot, but the deeper mechanics and science are not so well understood by the sufferer. It is a very personal condition especially with the area of the body that is affected. We are also protective of the people who have helped us, naturally you will be of W& A protocol because they have helped you and they seem like nice genuine people so when people come on here and say how incompetent Bill is, somebody who has helped me, of course I am going to defend him. Especially as some people who have a go at him are from the other side of the pond and have never even met him and have no real knowledge of how much he know about CPPS, apart from whats put on here by people who saw him years ago, when he was starting out in this area, hes never just winged this form of treatment, but he has got better at treating it with experience over the years.

Re: 10 months in and counting
Chris,
I was seeing Bill way before you ( I can tell that by the date you joined this site) , I was seeing him in 2006/2007 before he had ANY chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome training, I seen him for about a yr and I know him well. I too used to stick up for Bill read my old posts, this was until I was getting much worse after seeing Bill I then had correct training by a professional in Chicago (Rhonda Kotarinos) for over a yr. I then had something to compare to and the difference is NIGHT AND DAY
What I said is true believe me I went through the hell!!! You should never have more than 1 finger inserted the rectum Bill had all 4 deep inside me and fisting it fast to try and strip the muscles in his words, of coarse he will never admit this but he knows that I know there's at least 2 of us he did this to, I trusted him and thought he knew what he was doing as I didn't know what correct treatment was. I know of one other who is a friend and has had the same treatment as me! I am not alone trust me. He may have changed his style of treatment since he has had SOME training by Stephanie and Liz in Ireland but what about all those he was treating before he had any training at all in this field? He should of never been treating this until he did get correct training and 2 days in Ireland isn't going to cut it.
All this rubbish about he tried to get training is Billy bullshit. He told alprost in 2004 he was going to USA and he told others inc me in 2007/8. It doesn't take 4 yrs to sort out training he was just cashing in the money. Bill is a business man nothing more

I forgot to say, I used to have to put my sock into my mouth and hold onto the 2 bars under the bed/table and be as quiet as I could because the walls were only ¾ high. EVERYONE could hear me even people in the reception as I used to get asked what the hell was he doing to me in there.

I'm going to take this as a personal attack on me so I'm going to chime in here...At no time have I ever edited, or changed a person's post...At no time have I ever claimed to be an expert!!!!!!! I gain no financial compensation for spending the hundreds of hours here over a period of 4 years! My only intention is to help others with this difficult condition. Disappointed to read this...Chris wrote: this forum can be very negative and is ruled by people who have bits and pieces of knowledge and then proclaim themselves experts, which is a very dangerous thing in itself. I encourage anxiety prone UCPPS people to consider L-Theanine
Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.

Re: 10 months in and counting
I think Chris has had a positive experience with Bill and feels it necessary to defend him, which is understandable. However, people who like Bill and have had a lessening of symptoms because of his treatment should not try to silence those who have negative reports.

We have all gone to hell and back and some of us are still in hell! To those men...My heart goes out to them. I know what they are going through and the often dark thoughts that come with the suffering!May time arrive on your side and ease the discomfort!
