Leg press and pain in groin

Post by kidoairaku »

Hello all,

Years ago I used to have a gym membership and would do all sorts of weight lifting, that is until I got on the leg press machine one day and experienced a sharp, shooting nerve pain in my perineum when I completed a rep. This was the first prostate/groin related health issue I had experienced. Since then, I would experience the same shooting pain randomly for about 5-20 seconds at a time. These attacks would come out of nowhere, but would happen very rarely. I just wanted to know if anyone has a clue as to what nerve this is and what causes it to act up.

Thank you!
Age: 24. Onset: May 2007. | Symptoms: OFTEN -- Urine frequency, waxing/waning perineum discomfort (aching), abdomen pain/cramp w/ pressure, painful ejaculations, loose stools; OCCASIONALLY -- cloudy urine, IBS flareups, nocturia; RARELY -- night sweats, blood in urine, passing small dark brown stones. Helps: Alpha blocker, hot baths, relaxing abdomen and pelvic muslces, sitting or laying down. Besides my alpha blocker prescription, I have yet to see a therapist for this. I hope that with treatment I will be able to rid myself of this.

Did for me! was doing great and decided to try and push it . . .bad Idea.
Age 32, onset 32 Onset Aug 07- frequency was main problem in the beginning-really bad. Now 1 to 2x per night when frequency flairs up. Sore and tight lower abdominal muscles. Occasional burning after bowel movement and full feeling. What helps: Healthy diet(this is huge for me) Started drinking super greens supplament and almost going totally vegetarian to get body more alkaline, starting Prosta-Q, quercetin/zinc tablet in morning helped frequency problem I believe. Massaging abs and doing stretches helps calm down frequency when it is acting up. Wine or vodka after long day. Flexeral and melatonin at night. Swimming and light weights. .5 of Elavil every other day helps with frequency and healing process. Trying to stay positive and not stressing over this!
