Re: New member - My story (hope you like to read!)
Thanks snoop.
Wow, the other day I had to wake up mega-early to go to a job interview and the pain was killer that day. I barely got any sleep the night before, maybe 3-4 hours because my sleeping patterns are out of wack due to unemployment added to the small stress of a job interview and it wasn't a very good day. Thankfully it calmed down by the next day. I seem to be at about a 2-3 most of the time, and never really above a 6-7 anymore which is good. I'm really not looking forward to starting work though, I know its going to be tough....
How are you doing snoop?

Hey Kevin,
I'm hangin in there I suppose. I'm just about like you mostly a 1,2,3 occasionally a 4,5,6 on the pain scale, but always there unfortunately. The past week or so I've been missing my girl, since she's in Europe with her family. I've talked with her often on Skype, but it isn't the same as her being here with me. Waiting on an offer on a short sale to get approved so I can move into my house, this is a stressful thing, especially when you have to wait and wait. So I guess it has been a bit rough lately, but it is always rough lately. I need to get my drinking under control as I seem to medicate with alcohol due to the pain and distress. Vodka, sure does the trick though. I wish you the best of luck with your job hunting......I have the same pattern where it rides along at 1,2,3 until something really stressful occurs and then it ramps up, and then I'm like WTF man. Keep your chin up.

Vacation in Vegas was the best time I've ever had in my life...for huge long stretches of time I forgot totally about chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome and everything else other than what I was doing at the moment. It was great and I had a wonderful time with my girlfriend and her family. I can feel it again, but it hasn't been very bad for a couple of weeks which is nice. I'm starting work in a few days though...we'll see how it goes

Great news Kevin,
Just try to carry over whatever you're doing in your personal life into your professional life. Glad to hear you had a nice time in Lost Wages. Best of luck.

wow...today was a bad day. First day of the new job and even though I was feeling stress free, I must have been really tense. I really don't know how I'm going to do this..

The only way to do it is to stop worrying about what may or may not happen. Yesterday is in the past, and tomorrow's too far away. Just concern yourself with the events of today, and treat every day thereafter as a different and fresh experience. Don't assume that every day will be awful simply because today was.
As you'd mentioned, you started a new job, and I'm sure that would create some subconscious tension. You may not even feel it. Think about it: most guys with PFD don't even specifically feel the muscular tension, until said muscles are palpated!

I encourage anxiety prone UCPPS people to consider L-Theanine
Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.

Re: New member - My story (hope you like to read!)
I'm really having a rough time guys.... I was doing SO well when I was on vacation from school and working for a month and a half....pain was barely noticeable, I was laughing and happy and smiling. 2 days into a new job I feel like I am back where I started, I can't stop myself from crying sometimes when I'm alone at home and I feel really depressed and hopeless. Every time I even think about trying to get my CPA and talking to my friends who say its total hell I get completely overwhelmed with emotions and hopelessness. My pain level is back up to a 4-5 and that just makes me go over the top and tears start flowing. What can I do? I need help guys, please.

Re: New member - My story (hope you like to read!)
Kevin,
It is interesting that you are having such a rough time now b/c I am as well. My girl has been in Europe for 5 weeks with her family-luckily she'll be coming home next week. After about three weeks of her being gone I started to fall back into a rough period. I also get the uncontrollable crying outbursts when alone at home a lot recently. For me I think it is very similar to you, I go to work, I am in 4-5 level pain, I wonder if I can keep it up or if I should quit my job. I think about if I quit my job would my girl still want to be with me b/c she's dead set on being a mother soon and I can't quit work and start a family. I can't walk w/o pain, work w/o pain, barely anything without pain. It is all so catastrophic. I wish I had better advice for you but until you try the protocol it hard to say what you should do. I've tried the protocol and I'm not progressing well so it is even more depressing when you can find no relief from the pain. Everyone's case is different. It makes it especially hard when you are alone. If you ever need to talk to someone send me an email at [removed at poster's request] (since we can't do private messages here) and we could talk over the phone if that would help. Hang in there Kevin.

Snoopy, starting a family when your health situation is so fragile is not a good idea. It's clear that you are also having mental health issues around anxiety and depression that need to be separately treated by a professional.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

Re: New member - My story (hope you like to read!)
Snoopy,
Just like Mark said...You are in no condition right now to start a family...You have to get the anxiety and depression controlled before you can start to recover from this condition...Having a family is wonderful, but you have to be ready to take charge and provide...most woman do not want a man who is not a provider...Period....it's just the way it is. So you have to communicate the fact you need to heal first both mentally and physically.
Best

Personally, I have no plans to become a father. I've done some babysitting lately and soon realized that I just don't have the energy! I'm going to remain the bachelor uncle who spoils my brother's future children. Mwahaha.webslave wrote:I just would like to say that there is nothing wrong with not having children. Re: New member - My story (hope you like to read!)
I thought I would put my two cents worth into the conversation since there are a few things you can do to alleviate your pain in the short term. When you get home at night concentrate on relieving your anxiety. That's the first step to bringing your chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome under control. You have to take action and not stew about your condition. Take a hot bath and lie down for 30 minutes and clear your mind when you are in pain . My experience is that those two actions will help you relax right away. In the long term you should find a PT to assess your pelvis. I found a good PT that worked on women's pelvic pain and she helped me a lot. It doesn't take years but it does take a commitment to a program to improve your discomfort. Lastly, I remember waking up in the middle of the nite in a panic that my whole life was going to be horrible a few years ago. I did Dr. Wise's program, take hot baths when I am in pain(jacuzzi in my back yard), do the stretches taught to me by my PT, and relax. It works! You are not doomed to a life of pain. There are things you can do to improve the condition. Now I do whatever I want, no restrictions in my life.
