Urge/Frequency and Bowel Movements

Post by coppertop »

Sorry to ask a slightly gross question, but has anyone found that after having a bowel movement, particularly a large one, that feelings of urinary urge and frequency increase soon afterwards?

My overall urge and frequency has been MUCH better since starting on the Quercetin, but I find that the urge comes back, at least in the AM for a little while after the morning constitutional..which is about an hour after I get up and pee.

Since increasing my fiber intake I don't strain much, but everyone pushes a little, right? I guess it could be related to that? In the morning at breakfast I take my Tramadol 100m gm extended release tab, my Quercetin, and an Omega III fish oil pill.

CopperTop,

Hey man! I get the frequency thing with bowel movement, but actually in the bowels. I think it is called like "wet-anus" or something like that. It is very weird. I think it has to do with TP's next to the anus but for serious, it's not fun.

I have urinary frequency at times, and occasionally it will sting, and other times it won't but I am not completely sure what causes it.

Straining with stool affects the very muscles involved in this syndrome. Post-defecation pain is common.

Any advice on a muscle normally responsible for this can can be "massaged" to calm down prior or afterwards?

It also often feels like the anus is "raw" (i.e like haemorrhoidal, but w/o haemorrhoids.)

Thanks

PS- Webslave, when you were suffering, did you have these symptoms as well?

Muscle is levator ani. I did not have this symptom, but I suggest you try a hot bath after defecating or a heating pad.

I get that as well...Try a high fiber diet or http://www.konsyl.com. No gluten and works amazing. No need to push at all.

I encourage anxiety prone UCPPS people to consider L-Theanine
Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.

I recall how , when I would tell my doctor that my symptoms would come after a strong bowel movement, he would look at me as if I had three heads. Yes this is definitely a symptom, and evidence that one has the type of muscle dysfunction discussed here.
