Please look at my case and see what you think - need help.

Post by RichieRich »

I am a 26 year old male and for around two and a half years now I have been suffering from various symptoms which I now believe to be as a result of chronic pelvic pain syndrome. I have seen various conventional specialists such as Urologists and Gastroenterologists and apart from a diagnosis of IBS I have received no diagnosis or effective treatment.

Symptoms

In general I feel the need to urinate constantly and as though I have not fully emptied my bladder. I also (sometimes) feel a slight dissatisfaction during sexual intercourse and orgasm. I also at times feel a slight pain in my penis and wetness around the tip. The main cause of my irritation is a sore anus and sore rectum, from what feels like about 2/3 inches from the outside of the rectum to in. For instance if a finger was inserted I would feel severe discomfort in all parts of the rectum. Also after defecation i feel like I have not fully emptied my bowel, and also like there is still faeces in rectum close to anus. I also sometimes get a pain in my groin after defecation.

Interestingly after a nights sleep my symptoms all feel a lot better, although still there but totally bearable (ish). But once I defecate at any point in the day all the symptoms feel significantly worse. For instance if I hadn't defecated at any point in the day, I could have almost 95% normal sexual intercourse with very little discomfort. Also my need to urinate is less frequent, and the pain/discomfort in my rectal/anus area is a lot less.

I was wondering if you guys think this sounds like CPPS, and whether anyone with these specific symptoms knows of any specific treatments that may help my problems. Also if trigger point therapy would be useful for my case whether there are any specialists in the South of England?

Thank you so much for your time. Really, really down right now :(

None of your symptoms are unusual. IBS-C, frequency, pain, all common. Please do a lot more reading here. You will find many suggestions that will help you.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

Sounds pretty classic. Your anal/rectal and pelvic muscles all work in conjunction with each other and have massive effects on your sexual sensation and operation as well as defecation and urination. You should see a physical therapist as soon as you can because the road to recovery takes a few years. Better to get started sooner rather than later. I lost 10 years of my life to this because I could not figure out what was wrong with me for a long time. It wasn't until the last year and a half that I finally found this information and began treating myself accordingly. Do yourself a favor and get started sooner rather than later.

I encourage anxiety prone UCPPS people to consider L-Theanine
Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.

Dude your symptom set closely resembles mine. Almost the same my symptoms have changed over time but his is exactly what I feel every day. Wake up feel great. Take a dump and it's all down hill. Also told I have IBS prostatitis etc. Been the therapy route. It worked. Was better for a while. Insurance stopped covering it so I stopped going. One thing I noticed. After a therapy session I had no tension and my pelvis would easily relax and I could pee freely. I'd say you found the right place.
