My story...I need help ASAP!! (jboek01 case)

Post by jboek01 »

I am 31 years old. It all began a couple months ago when I had a bad case of the flu. Basically coming out both ends. A couple days later I was in the E. R. because I had this severe stomach pain and pressure in my pelvic area and penis. The doctor said I was dehydrated and I had swollen lymph nodes. I then ended up going back to the E. R. the next week because my stomach was distending. The doctor says I had stools still stuck. So I continued with stomach problems and this ongoing problem of the lower pressure in pelvic area and penis. So I ended up having a colonoscopy and an ultra sound done. They did not find anything. I thought maybe it was a bladder infection, but once again nothing. It was really stressing me out what was wrong with me.

Then I went to an urologist and he said I have prostatitis. I am currently taken sulfamethoxazole twice a day. I feel a little better after 5 days but not really.

My symptoms are: a weird sensation in the penis that is always there and not very comfortable, short severe pains in penis sometimes, lower pelvic pressure, a couple times my balls hurt, and painful ejaculation. And when I wake up in the morning I always feel edgy, nervous, or something... just not right.

The only pill that gives me about 4-5 hrs of relief is Xanax. And I was taking this before I was diagnosed with prostatitis. I was thinking early was I just having anxiety problems? I really have no stresses in my life prior and am a mellow guy. This flu and penis problems although have really messed me up.
I have found when I get angry or nervous it really starts to flare up worse.

My life has suffered over the past couple months. My relationship with my girlfriend has not been good. I'm always sitting at home which is not like me because of this pain or pressure. The pain or the weird feeling just never goes away. I just need some answers and hopefully making correct steps for a cure. What kind of therapist do you see? And every site talks about exercises to do to help but no one tells you what exercises to do. I was thinking about trying the extra olive oil treatment. I will try about anything to get rid of this.

I just want my life back. Its tough going every day with pain and fear of it coming on. I cannot believe there truly is not a cure for this. It's not like I have cancer or AIDS or something. I am just frustrated and I need your help and advice.

Thanks.
Jason.

Jason welcome,

You have found the right place...

The fact that you get relief from taking Xanax tells me a lot...
  • Buy the book A headache in the pelvis 5th addition...
  • consider low dose Elavil 10mg or cut it in half to 5 mg...
  • get your free sample of Quercetin
  • once you are done with your antibiotics if you are taking them...don't go back to them...DONE!!!
  • Read up in this site on pelvic myoneuropathy it will help explain what is likely happening to you
  • take evening hot baths and deep breathing relaxation
  • yoga style stretches
  • drop your pelvic floor as if to pass urine...don't clench your PC muscle...like when you urinate and the muscles that you use to stop the flow...relax that area all day everyday.
  • Do a search for a qualified PT in your area that understands pelvic floor dysfunction...that's what's likely happening to you.
This is a disorder that can be controlled through anxiety control, relaxation, diet changes and over all life style changes for the better. Your wake-up call has been handed to you in the form of this disorder called UCPPS or CP/CPPS.

You will slowly recover but it takes time and effort and faith... the body will heal as the anxiety is controlled. You may not have been aware of the anxiety deep with in you, but it was there...

Best, Carl...

Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.

My urologist said if the pills don't work. He wants to look inside the penis area and see if there is a blockage. Or he said my pee hole might be too small.
Has anyone else heard this before?

Yes, if the pee hole (meatus) is too small it is called "urethral stenosis" and if the urethra is narrowed further up it is called a stricture, which can be seen during a cystoscopy.

A trial of any accredited quercetin product should last at least 3 months.

It seems like over the past few days I am having problems with my balls. They do not feel right. It kind of hurts to sit down and walk sometimes. They do not look right. One seems like its hanging way to low instead of being in the normal position. Is this normal?

Its is quite normall for one ball to hang lower than the other and its normally the left. Think this is for walking reasons i once read . A teste to ache is common in a lot of us with this condition .
Age:33 | Onset Age:19 | Symptoms:burning urethra, deep sore stinging around the perineum, dribbling | Helped By:when flare starts deep relaxing over a toilet to let out dribbling urine, hot bath, rubbing a heat cream on the perineum, Tens with a pad on the perineum, running, medication (solpadol) for pain. Current treatment: PT. | Worsened By:sitting, stressing over it, ejaculation, sometimes alcohol but I risk it. Been feeling a lot better last 6 months about 85% with a few flares lasting about 5 days. No longer having PT. Stretching every other night and I believe time is also a big factor for me

It seems that you're getting good advice from all here.
Let me add - that for relaxation - and you really do need to know that learning how to chill is a skill we MUST learn - this tool is a great thing to have in your tool box.
StressEraser

Check it out....it's good stuff...

Age:46 | Onset Age:42 (first occurence Age 17). | Symptoms: A belt of pain that wraps around my waist radiating down my groin & into testicles. Also: Radiating from hips down thighs, Urinary urgency even after voiding, lightning bolts of pain that shoot through my rectum, penis & perineum, muscle spasms in my bottocks, fear of sexual arousal or erection. | Helped By: Hot Water Therapy, RSA Breathing, Pacing more than sitting, Avoiding Negative People, Painting & Writing, Painkillers. | Worsened By: Wearing Pants, Anger, Panic, Depression, Stress, Vigorous Sex, Prolonged Sitting, Constipation, Abrupt Movements, Lifting/Carrying anything more than a Gallon of Milk, Forgetting to do the above things I'm helped by. *Ejaculation is a Mixed bag: It definitely relieves pressure & pain in my Abdomen (as well as a good emotional release) - But, causes bigtime burning in my penis & perineum for 10-45 minutes after.

I called a Physical therapist today and they said I could come in for a free consutation. They said they would not want to treat me if its a hernia or an organ problem. They said it has to be muscular. Am I on the right track?
Is this what most people do? And, boy I had pain today pretty bad, but took a Xanax and it pretty much went away.

Thanks.
JAson.

Xanax..part of the benzodiazepine family, is an anti-anxiety muscle relaxant that can stop spasms. This is a good indicator that your dealing with a muscular problem and make sure you PT understands pelvic floor dysfunction...

Good luck...

I'm still a little concerned with my balls. Trust me, I've seen my balls every day in my 31 years of life and they have never looked like this before.

I do not know if thats a hernia or is it just from anxiety or nerves with this prostatitis. Plus, I do not know if it makes a difference but I have not been having much sex at all in the past 2 months... which really sucks.

Is Xanax a good pill to take for this?
And I've lost 10 -15 lbs from the flu and this prostatitis during the past 2 months and I cannot seem to gain any of the weight back. The only thing I've changed is no more pop and hardly and beer. I guess too I eat more healthy by eating a lot more veggies and fruit. Can prostatitis make you lose weight?
