9999maverick88 case

Post by 9999maverick88 »

I have a couple of embarrassing questions to ask:

1. Does anyone here ever get a 'shrink' when defecating? Is this normal?

2. What is the best way to wipe after defecating to avoid a flareup? I find after I'm finished wiping, it has irritated me and the general area hurts/I can feel tension there for like half an hour afterward, and I want to avoid this.
Onset Age: 13 Current Age: 21 History: Must of started as a urinary tract infection. My left testicle was hurting, and I waited about 2-3 years before mentioning it to the doctor. I was then put on antibiotics, which did not help. I saw 3-4 different urologists over the years. I was diagnosed with chronic epididymitis. About 2 years ago, the pain in my epididymis subsided, but I still have pain in the rectum/perineum/prostate areas. I have tried courses of antibiotics, ibuprofen, prosta-q, saw palmetto, cranberry juice, and many other natural remedies. This problem gets worse following defecation, or jogging/running. I definitely feel tightness in the pelvic floor, but I don't know how to relax it without concentrating on it (and thinking about this issue makes it much worse for me). I found over the years that my mind tends to focus on the pain, and if I'm distracted, it tends to get better. I read headache in the pelvis and feel that their interpretation of the problem is correct. I have recently started doing relaxation techniques and taking warm baths.

Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.

As for wiping, I recommend the Asian model, that is, very little wiping and the use of water.

Most Asians and Africans take a jug of water with them into the toilet and clean their anal areas after defecation with one hand while slowly pouring the water from behind onto their cracks. To do this, you lean forward on the toilet seat and scoot a bit forward; men need to position their testicles outside the toilet seat (on the forward side). The finger of one hand opens the anus slightly and cleans fecal material from deeper in the anus than toilet paper ever (comfortably) could. The end result is a much cleaner anal area than if you'd used paper, especially if you have a hairy backside (and most men do). It also obviates the need for the huge, polluting and destructive toilet paper industry. If you have toilet paper, you can dab the area dry (toilet paper will come away damp, but completely clean). The hand should be well washed with soap afterwards, with attention to the area under the nails too.

Here's a quote from somewhere else:
In places like India, and many parts of Asia,” he told me, “a bathroom won’t have toilet paper. It will have a little cup of water. Basically, after you’ve done your business, you take your left hand and wash the exit hole of fecal matter, then wash your hand. That’s why nobody shakes hands with their left hand in most of Asia and the Middle East, because that’s your a**-wiping hand.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

I use Preperation H gel (http://www.preparationh.co.uk/products/clear.htm) after I've done the wiping - and it really helps calm the whole area down. Recommended.

Advice on how to 'calm down' after physical activity

Post by 9999maverick88 »

I find that after working out, going for a run, or engaging in any sort of physical activity, my body doesn't feel like it calms down. It feels like it's still engaged in that activity even hours later. Not surprisingly, I find that this is often when I get a flare-up, probably because my body feels like it is still undergoing stress continually and needs to be on the defensive. I find that when I take a hot bath afterwards, it helps. Is there anything else I can do to calm myself down afterwards? Does anyone else experience this anxiety after physical activity?
