Feeling Gratitude For A Change

Post by NoMoPain »

Hi everyone,

I was sitting here tonight whining to myself about some of the recent bickering me and my wife have been having. Really trivial stuff like she yelled at me for buying the wrong toilet paper !

But then I started to think about how good my life is now compared to how bad it was just 3 years ago this time of year. My health is great as my body is still pain free and generally symptom free. I have a beautiful son, a wonderful fulfilling hobby (Chess !), ability to exercise and have sex that feels great.

All this is in stark contrast to how I was just 3 years ago. How bad was it for me 3 years ago ? Well, the pain was so bad and it was always there and I got so depressed that I even considered ending my life. Yeah, this is for real ! I was so depressed I simply could not laugh about anything. I would have sold my soul to the devil to get out of that pain ! As most of you know what got me better was mostly learning how to do internal trigger point work on myself combined with immersing myself into the Byron Katie work.

So in this moment I do feel some sincere gratitude. Big thanks again goes out to Dr Wise and Webslave - we are very lucky to have these guys on our team.

So no matter how bad it gets and how hopeless it may seem in any given moment, the reality is that the future could become very bright even without you being aware of it in the present.

And my final words of advice is to always check with the wife to make sure you buy the correct toilet paper. Learn from my mistakes.

Take Care Brothers,

Update From NoMoPain (one year later)

Post by NoMoPain »

Hi Everyone,

It has been about 13 months since my last update, so I figure I am overdue.

Things are still going good for me. I am still pain free and have no urinary symptoms. About 1% to 2% of the time I feel some tightness and\or mild discomfort, but it is not bad at all. I still do internal work about 2 times a month to try to keep things loose down there.

I no longer do Paradoxical Relaxation. For me, the bigger part of my recovery was accomplished by doing tons and tons of Cognitive Therapy work (Byron Katie, Albert Ellis, Aaron Beck). The benefits from doing this are a dramatic reduction in stress, and the benefits tend to stay with you for life.

I would say Cognitive Therapy has absolutely transformed me into a much more relaxed and calm person than what I used to be.

I wish you all the best in your recoveries.
