Couple of questions...

Post by Orion »

Hey all -
My symptoms had been pretty good for the last 5 months or so. I had stopped drinking diet coke (I drank a lot of it), got on Gabapentin and Ibuprofen and that all seemed to really help. I am a bit worried about taking Ibuprofen each night (~600mg) but it's helping me sleep well. My main symptoms of urgency, frequency, pain in my left flank/butt and testicle and pain down my legs had improved. I could go 5-6 hours without the need to pee, and when I did go pee there was zero urgency. Got to the point where I almost forgot about the problems.

However, pain after orgasm *still* occurred, which is incredibly frustrating.

I do drink a bit of coffee in the morning. With my new job, I've been drinking a bit more. ANNND, as you can guess...my symptoms are back (albeit not too bad - but definitely noticable).

I was reading a bit about Interstitial Cystitis - the idea that your bladder wall is somewhat damaged - and that certain liquids (diet soda, coffee) can aggravate it. I remember when I was a little kid having a bad burning feeling when I peed occasionally, but being a wimp I never said anything to my folks. I wonder if I had a UTI perhaps and it went untreated and migrated up into my bladder and did some damage? What is everyones thoughts on IC and CPPS? Two different problems with similar "symptoms" or more related?

I am considering any accredited quercetin product as well - what are peoples experiences with it? Is it a gimmick? Does it help with inflammation? If it does I'd be really happy - the Ibuprofen really seems to knock inflammation down for me. I am still upset that something like an orgasm sets off a flare up no matter what. I want to know what a normal orgasm feels like with NO pain. Is that even possible?!

I wish I understood all this stuff better - be it CPPS, IC, mental problems etc. It seems like I really struggle with all of this (stricture surgeries, bad depression/anxiety, some mental problems from growing up in an abusive household etc). I am happy that I can isolate items that make things worse - but when it flares back up, it's a bummer.

Well thanks for letting me vent.
Age: 31; age at onset: 18; symptoms: perineum pain, joint pain, pain in back, pain on left or right testicle, very bad fatigue, malaise, frequent/urgent urination (good stream though), weak/muted orgasms with symptoms getting worse after orgasm, anxiety, depression, 3 surgeries to repair bad strictures (urethrotomy and urethroplasties).

No, you don't have UTIs that come and go of their own accord.

Many doctors think they are one and the same condition. I do too. Others insist they are different, usually for political/funding reasons.

There are many people in this website testifying that any accredited quercetin product helps, including me. But why even ask this question when you can obtain a month's supply free (for the cost of shipping)? Just do it.

Try my recommendation of relaxing all your voluntary pelvic muscles when orgasming, including your glutes (bum) muscles. And try to get to the orgasm without tensing your pelvic muscles. It's difficult, but can be done. Let her get on top.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.
