5-HTP

Post by Gabriel »

I would be interested to hear about anyone's experiences, positive or negative, with 5-HTP. I've done a search of the forum but found only 1 brief mention of it.

I'm taking 15mg of an antidepressant called Zispin which blocks some of the 5HTP receptors. Seems to keep my outlook fairly balanced although I do get a bit irritable sometimes.

I've tried the Serotone brand of 5HTP and it made me anxious - a bit like a weak version of an SSRI.

I take 5-htp every day (1 tablet in the morning) and it has improved my mood. I found it made me a bit anxious the first day or so, but it vanished.

I do find it harder to sleep if I also take an extra one at night
