Hi, my name is Mike, I am 47 and have been suffering from CP for about 5 months. I have a varity of symptoms including slow urine stream(at times), slight burning while urinating, back pain, and last but not least pain in my bladder/lower abdominals.
I have been down the antibiotic road and that has not helped. My first uro told me it would go away on its own and sent me away.
My second Uro first did an ultrasound that showed my bladder was not emptying completely. I was put on Flomax and naproxen. He also sent me for a CT scan which was normal. After 2 weeks on the Flomax, Uro did a cystoscopy and found nothing wrong. He took me off the Flomax and prescribed uroxatral and more naproxen.
The Flomax did not help and I am getting ready to start the uroxatral. However, I had a lot of pain after the cystoscopy and took percocets 2 days in a row and last night about 12 hours after the percocet I felt normal for the first time in 5 months. Now today the bladder/abdominal pain is coming back. This is the worst of my symptoms and can be debilating at times. I am beginning to think my second uro does not know what to do for me.
I have contacted Marilyn Freedman on LI and I am considering going to see her. I have also read HITP. What do you guys think, is it time for me to see the PT? Note I briefly mentioned it to my urologist and he said the uroxatral would relax my pelvic floor.
Thanks in advance for any advice,
Mike

Uroxatral does not relax the pelvic floor. Dump that uro.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

Re: Time to go see PT?
I agree it is time to dump the Uro. I have a recommendation for a Dr. Victor Nitti. He is at New York University.
Has anyone ever heard of him?
Also, I am going to make an appointment to see Marilyn Freedman in about 2 weeks. This will probably be before the new Uro visit.
Do you think I should hold off on the visit to Marilyn until I go to the new Uro? I am excited to see her and don't really want to wait.
Thanks,
Mike

I'd hold on the new uro until I'd seen Marilyn.
