Re: Alcohol helps, Why??

Simple. Small doses of alcohol only serve to irritate the urogenital tract (it's a mast cell trigger, for instance), whereas a large dose will relax muscles and anaesthetize, both of which help.

In general, alcohol is best avoided because the cumulative effect on pelvic pain is not good.

burning after bowel movements

Post by calguy »

Now I am getting buning and aching feeling in the anus and bowel movement. Was doing some research here and couldnt figure out if I should do internal work for this or just relax. Really kind of painful and when I try to sit after burning starts it just makes it a lot worse. When I lay down or stand I get relief too. Just curious if internal work would help?
Age 32, onset 32 Onset Aug 07- frequency was main problem in the beginning-really bad. Now 1 to 2x per night when frequency flairs up. Sore and tight lower abdominal muscles. Occasional burning after bowel movement and full feeling. What helps: Healthy diet(this is huge for me) Started drinking super greens supplament and almost going totally vegetarian to get body more alkaline, starting Prosta-Q, quercetin/zinc tablet in morning helped frequency problem I believe. Massaging abs and doing stretches helps calm down frequency when it is acting up. Wine or vodka after long day. Flexeral and melatonin at night. Swimming and light weights. .5 of Elavil every other day helps with frequency and healing process. Trying to stay positive and not stressing over this!

calguy. . . . I had severe leg/thigh burning pee until a few months ago. It was worse every time I would sit. I found that diet modification cured the leg burning. I cut out tomatoes, carbonated drinks/alcohol and spicy foods. I also cut out fluoride and chocolate. . . It took 2 weeks for me to notice the effects, but it worked. It also cut out a lot of my frequent urination. I was peeing 10 times a day before, now 2 or 3. I still have issues, but diet mod really helped in my case.

Was doing really good

Post by calguy »

Really frustrated today as the last few days my abs have been tighter than they have ever been before. Frequency kicked up a little too. I had almost three weeks of feeling almost normal and thought I had turned the corner with this then wham now everything is all flared up. I must admit I got away from my routine and relaxing which may have been my mistake. I beginning think sex may be the cause of the tightness around lower abs and bladder. I haven't stayed away from sex long enough to tell but things get a little tight after so maybe sex is an issue. Girlfriend won't be happy about this and dont know how to tell her we can't have sex. Plus shes hot and pretty hard to resist. Well just feeling a little down about this and needed to tell someone.

I encourage anxiety prone UCPPS people to consider L-Theanine
Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.

So many things to focus on now just to have sex, probably last longer cause my mind will be so occupied with abs. Went and saw PT and she really worked abs. Everything feels much better and abs feel more relaxed and loose. I hadnt done internal work for 1.5 months and she found a couple trigger points in there as well but overall she said I am okay internally and way better than I was before when I first saw her. I think if I can just fix problem with abs I should be okay. Frequency as calmed down again as well thank god!

The body actually produces more urine when it is in a supine position. Couple that with the fact you have an irritated pelvic region and there you go. I notice that when I wake up at night I am really clenched up like people who grind their teeth but mine is in the pelvic region. Something unconscious I have to try and get rid of.

I assume that after we rehabilitate the irritated area the sleep thing will get better.

Rough week guys

Post by calguy »

Well I had to go away for some for some work training and sitting 8hrs a day on hard chairs did me in I think. My frequency has come back and getting me down. Usually doesn't last a week before it goes away. I was doing good for about a month and then wham just when you think you got this thing beat. I can feel the tightness in my abs and sure this is causing my problems. When I work them it feels like a bruise but I know I still got to do it. Hope everything calms down soon as it is frustrating the hell out of me. I also just found a new home to purchase this week and I think this is contributing to my stress which is causing this flare. I would usually be so excited about this but now I am just worried that the stress of mortgage and bills may do me more harm than good. I dont feel stressed but I guess I probably am more than I know. I think they call it latent anxiety. Well will try and relax tonight and really work the abs to loosen them up. This condition is so frustrating :62_58_40: You just can't stop doing what keeps you feeling good and helps you stay on track is what I think I am learning from this. Can you still take two steps back just to improve a little even when you have been feeling good for a few weeks or is this just waxing and waning?
