Good post!

The area right bellow the prostate closer to the anus is the trouble spot for me.

yellow color semen

Post by calguy »

should I be worried if my semen has a yellowish color to it. I thought it was supposed to be white?
Age 32, onset 32 Onset Aug 07- frequency was main problem in the beginning-really bad. Now 1 to 2x per night when frequency flairs up. Sore and tight lower abdominal muscles. Occasional burning after bowel movement and full feeling. What helps: Healthy diet(this is huge for me) Started drinking super greens supplament and almost going totally vegetarian to get body more alkaline, starting Prosta-Q, quercetin/zinc tablet in morning helped frequency problem I believe. Massaging abs and doing stretches helps calm down frequency when it is acting up. Wine or vodka after long day. Flexeral and melatonin at night. Swimming and light weights. .5 of Elavil every other day helps with frequency and healing process. Trying to stay positive and not stressing over this!

Tight in abs and around bladder

Post by calguy »

I was doing great but did a little too much again last weekend and now I am really tight around my lower abs and around bladder especially when I sit. When I stand or lay down I get relief. This seems to be a recurring problem for me as the last couple times I pushed it too hard I the same symptoms kicked in. I believe this is muscular because after visit with PT and ab work I felt much better. No frequency just tight feeling . Some burning down legs again too which I attribute to some muscular thing. Any suggestions to keep this under control besides having to run to PT. I try to do my own external work but can't do it like my PT. I am getting my IC fears again which happens every time I getting tightness around bladder area. When I press around abdominal area I definitely feel trigger points and can increase symptoms in lower areas so it must be muscular. I still haven't tried Elavil do you think it could possibly help?

I found that 1500 mg a day of quercetin made my semen yellow/green. Something to keep in mind.

Having bad anxiety today

Post by calguy »

Hey guys for the last couple days I have been having that tightness and a feeling like my pubic hairs are being pulled on(only way to describe it). I have been tripping hard that I'm going to go into really bad IC flair and I will finally face my worst fear. I was doing good but last weekend did way too much. I just can't stop thinking I'm going to end up with severe case of IC. I thought I was over this but I guess I'm not. I just wish my pain/discomfort was somewhere else but near abs and bladder. it does change but locations such as legs and low back. Like I said guys having a really bad time and I can't get mind around it . Had to vent and only place to turn. :62_58_40:

Hey dude - I've been there - and hang in there! It's hard when the symptoms become a little more spread out. Honestly, it can be scary. I have burning sometimes in my legs, buttocks, feelings of prickly skin (like I'm wearing a wool sweater on a hot day) where my hair feels itchy on my chest abdominals and butt. In talking with neurologists, pain docs, and even reading up on nerve cross-talk on this site I think it's all just par for the course. The key, as my pain psychologist is helping me learn to do, is to calm the central nervous system, not light it up! Easier said than done, I know - something that really helps me - and I know that this sounds totally absurd - is to pretend that this is how things are supposed to feel - because in some ways they are - it's how our body works out the confusion that is CPPS. I have learned that I need to just trust it will know how to heal itself if I give it time, a comfortable relaxed shell to heal in, and a good kick in the but of PT now and then :). WAY hard to remember on certain days - but I just sat in the park and forgot about pain for a whole hour! That's pretty damn cool from where I've been - it's all back as I sit here on the computer, but I had a great hour!
Age:29 | Onset Age:29 | Symptoms: ORIGINALLY - rectal pain, penis tip pain, perineal spasms, golf ball feeling in perineum, painful ejacualation ONGOING - rectal pain, penis tip hypersensitivity, urethral pain at beginning of urination, ejaculatory pain, burning skin around legs and buttox | Helped By: warm baths, NO catastrophic thinking, Physical Therapy; Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol; Mirtazipine (Remeron) for anxiety and sleep, dry needling of TPs (NOT injections), PAIN PSYCHOLOGIST (CBT and Commitment and Acceptance Therapy), diet changes - so far eggs are out doing an elimination diet now :) | Worsened By: ANXIETY, FEAR, STRESS, CATASTROPHIC THINKING,heavy weight lifting , sitting too long

Webslave I am on no meds. I do have prescription for Elavil sitting in my draw but didn't want to take them because I was feeling pretty good last weeks. I know I should try and I probably will just in middle of moving living situations and don't know how they will make me feel. I know I should try them when I get settled in new place. In a way I did not want to mask my pain so I can stay in tune with my body.

Calguy, your frequent, panicky posts indicate that you are very much in need of an anxiolytic medication. I suggest you get a supply of Valium from your doctor and take it when you start feeling like this. Also, start taking about 7-8mg of Elavil every second day, about 2 hours before bedtime.

Hi Calguy,

Having suffered from anxiety most of my life I can attest to how much it can impact ones life. I've tried everything and although I'm in no way cured, I no longer am constantly anxious days on end. I have my bad days, but generally speaking they are spikes on a generally pretty relaxed plain.

I would get back on the Elavil. I went off it for a while and suffered the consequences. I'm only taking 10 mgs. (I bite 25 mgs in half) At this dose it really does not affect anxiety at all, but does help out with the CPPS.

I don't recommend benzos myself. I take them once every two or three weeks. Remember that benzos only mask symptoms, they don't deal with the core problem. The core problem is an active flight/flight/freeze response. I know it sounds crazy, but to put anxiety in perspective remember that it's fear of fear. You aren't being chased by a lion or getting robbed. You are reacting to a perceived feeling. That's all it is. Anxiety is a feeling that isn't actually real. The more you self-monitor, the more you will be aware of your anxiety and CPPS. It's a vicious cycle.

Remember this. You aren't in control. None of us are. The more you try to control things, the more obsessive you'll get. Flow, stay in the moment.

What will help?

Refrain from listening to your anxious thoughts. Distract yourself with something you really enjoy.
Live your life as normally as possible. Don't change yourself to accommodate your anxiety or CPPS.
Refrain from researching cures, treatments and medications for your condition. You already have all the tools you need.
Find something that helps you relax and that will distract you from your thoughts.
Connect with your higher power and give everything up to him. You don't have to carry the load by yourself.

What has really helped me is reading The Linden Method. It completely cured me from high anxiety. It's a book of lifestyle changes that will really change your life if you are willing to make the necessary changes. Try it. It works.

I'll keep you in prayer.

Peace.

I would completely disagree with that...I have suffered from anxiety and panic disorders for more than 15 years...I now have it under control. I found that 10mg of Elavil along with cognitive work through a therapist and neurofeedback, daily relaxation and avoiding all stimulants are of great!!!! help. Get on that Elavil like Mark said. You can cut the 10mg in half with a pill cutter you can get from CVS pharmacy for a few days and then go to 10mg. I did 10mg for a year and just in the last month I cut it to 5mg to see how it would effect me and I have noticed some spikes in my anxiety where I had none....0 since I started the Elavil. My doctor explained to me that sometimes a medication like amitriptyline (Elavil) which is a tricyclic antidepressant can work well in very low dosages for other things say in our case anxiety. At that dosage, your talking about a very low safe amount that can not only help with the anxiety but with your CP/CPPS because it could help slow frequency and because it's a mast cell protector. To me the positive out weighed the negative, which is dry mouth, some fatigue you adjust to and hard dry stools you can counter because you are already eating healthy. Eat more fiber.

Frequency isn't an issue for me now Carld, actually stream is not as strong as I would like it to be. I dont what it to cause me to retain urine which is one reason I held off. I will give it a go and see if it calms the nerves which could be causing burning down legs. Also my mother passed away 2 days ago so I think I was upset about that to. See PT so I'm sure I will feel better after some ab work and some serious internal work. I actually havent seen her in two weeks because we tried to push it back a week to save me some cash. Tried my own but just not getting the same results have to talk to her about that to. Thanks Carld
