Hey Garyholic.
So here are my thoughts on the ED/libido issue. It sounds like we are in a very similar boat here. I also do not have much "pain" these days, only when things are aggravated like when I go to the bathroom or eat something bad, etc. For the most part it's just an uncomfortablenesses I feel in the area. I sort of equate it to when you've had too much sex in a short time frame and you just feel a dull muscle pull/ache, lack of drive, lack of sensitivity (or sometimes too much sensitivity) and lack of desire. My feeling is that it is the same group of muscles responsible for the core euphoric sensation involved in an orgasm at the base of the prostate urethra area. This group of muscles might develop a few TPs maybe from overuse? I know mine got a lot of use before this happened and I was a champ at holding on for longer periods. I seem to have about 4 TPs in this area nowadays. They also effect defecation and urination... especially the last little bit of urine that results in dribbling. I still get dribbling when I have a flare up and slight aches or subtle burning in the urethra. It seems to me that this muscle group right below the prostate is the crucial area responsible for our symptoms. I know mine has been a lot of trouble to massage out and release. The tension always seems to come back and I have spasms there through the day if I massage it in the morning. I think if this area is all tensed up and closed off you get a restriction of sensation drive and orgasmic pleasure over all. Again, for me, it's almost like the achy feeling you have after you've had too much sex and lose interest in having anymore for the remainder of the day. I think this contributes to ED in the same way. For me I can get and maintain an erection when aroused enough but it's just not as easy or natural as it used to be and it comes and goes in the mornings. Not at all like it used to be but it's more the lack of drive or stirring of the loins and less arousal that drives me bonkers.
What are your thoughts? How has it been going on your end? Mine comes and goes normally but I'm going through a big flare up each day as I try to release TPs in the area I'm talking about. This has been going on for weeks now. I'm going to give it a break for awhile to see if it calms down and relaxes out any. Very annoying obviously. I've been trying to release this area for about a month now.

Re: Low Libido
Regarding ED, I can point out that last year my erections and libido came back in full force for a period of two full months, then returned at the previous point, which means I can have a sexual life but it's a bit more tricky. Luckily, I still can manage to make my girlfriend happy, so at least I just have to work on my pleasure. I'm still trying to figure out why erections came back with such a strength, considering that I've made no change in my lifestyle during that period, but I think the mind plays a strong role in all of this.

Hi JJ
Do you find that it plays on your mind, in particular do you feel down about the whole thing, as I think being depressed or feeling down about it is not helping the libido aspect. I've noticed on good days when I am happy I have better erections, and lately I have found them coming back in the mornings, still not like before, but its nice to know it still works :) The thing that I find hardest though is not actually feeling like sex, or even thinking about it. God, I prob would think about all day every day before this, now, nothing. I've started taking some herbal stuff and see if that makes any change. Its early days, will let you know. JJ I dont know if you are same as me and Neue but I find that I can get it up with a bit of work or if I am turned on with someone, but lets say the time comes to slip on a condom, it will go back down again very quickly. My PT said this is because of the dysfunctional muscles not holding the blood in the penis and that it will get better as the muscles get back to normal. Have you had any PT or do you do any internal work?

Re: Low Libido
Hello Gary,
no I haven't had any PT work because I live in Italy and no one here knows about the Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol. I'm planning to go to San Francisco sooner or later, but so far I have just read AHIP.
I feel our problems lie in the muscles, yes. Muscles are overtense, weak and can't handle the blood pressure properly, so we end up having a degree of ED. The thing I really cannot understand is why this happens only to a minority of patients: maybe the conjectures about a certain band of muscles being responsible for it are up to the point. I'd give a 40% share of responsibility to mind, though: if you know that you're gonna have problems and the whole sex process will be tricky, how much can you get aroused?

Re: Low Libido
I've been thinking more about the libido thing... I'm thinking at the moment that there is a correlation between muscles and libido. As I've seemed to notice in myself there is a discomfort and uneasiness in the muscles in the orgasmic area of my pelvic floor. I have a general discomfort, spasms, tingling and pulling in the area but not pain anymore. If this area is out of sorts there is no thrusting desire or stirring. It is simply just an absence of feeling in the region. It actually makes me feel uncomfortable to thrust or put it all out there, if that makes sense. I have periods where this is worse than others. When I am at my best this uncomfortable feeling goes away and I have a return of interest in thinking about women, looking at them or day dreaming about them. These moments give me a glimpse at functioning normally but are never quite totally all there. This remaining part could be mental but I'm not sure as of yet? I'm just trying to get my body into a place where I am consistently in this better state of feeling over all. If I can do this I can begin to experiment with wether the next step is mental or also mechanical. The flare ups I go through drive me nuts though. I always have a few days were think I am getting better right around the corner and then it all goes to hell for a week. It's driving me nuts. How many more flare ups does my body need to go through? totally annoying.
