Avoiding post-ejaculation pain & muscle spasm

Post by webslave »

I think we now have a believable scenario for linking the mysterious post-ejaculatory pain of chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome to something, namely muscle spasm. When I was ill with CPPS, years ago, I discovered that I could avoid a lot of post-ejaculatory pain by relaxing during ejaculation, instead of the natural male tendency to tense up to increase sensation. This now makes perfect sense in the light of the new knowledge. By inhibiting the tensing response, you can inhibit the neural feedback and crosstalk to the pudendal and other nerve branches, thereby avoiding the production of neuropeptides and excited mast cells.

In short, to avoid post-ejaculatory pain as much as possible:
  1. Lie on your back and let your partner get on top
  2. do not tense the buttocks or pelvic muscles or thigh muscles during intercourse (difficult, but can be done)
  3. allow ejaculation to just "happen"
You will find that post-ejaculatory pain is significant diminished.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

Webslave tried your method of relaxing at finish . Hard to do, but no ejaculation pain after . Did not realize there was no pain until 20 mins later. Just suddenly remembered that I had tried this and realized no pain. You could be on to something .

I must admit that in the 3 months I've had this I've tried to avoid ejaculating due to the discomfort/pain afterwards. Relaxing prior and during ejaculation helps big time but it still isn't much fun.

Most I've gone without is 3 weeks (usually clean the pipes every 10 days since getting CPPS) - no real problems with it, but I find I get prostate leakage after a couple weeks.
Not medical advice: Read my progress to date : Read about my W-A clinic visit

Age: 54 CPPS: 20 Yrs Recovery Status: 95% Symptoms: Pain around perineum Makes Worse: Tension, sitting Makes Better: Stretching, triggerpoint therapy, relaxation

avoid a lot of post-ejaculatory pain by relaxing as they orgasmed, instead of the natural male tendency to tense up and "ram home" and "shoot deep"
Similarly I find this method prevents retrograde ejaculation from Flomax. If I relax I get a normal amount of ejaculate.
