Re: Capsaicin receptor,as a cause of CPPS,pubic pain
Eating chili can cause a flare for some men. Very spicy food should be treated with caution.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

Re: Capsaicin receptor and pelvic pain
Perhaps ironically, capsaicin is being examined as a treatment for CPPS because overwhelming the nerves with capsaicin can "burn them out" and reduce sensitivity to pain. Trials with capsaicin/RTX have not been tremendously successful, though.
Started: Spring 2003; high urinary frequency and pain associated with bladder filling; urinary hesitancy; pubic/prostate/perineal discomfort; Helped by: trigger point therapy, Afrin nasal spray, Cymbalta, hydrocodone (small doses), distraction. Makes worse: sex.

Re: Capsaicin receptor and pelvic pain
I call them Capsaicin receptors because the burning sensation down there originate from them.
Why fight fire with fire would automatically apply???
I say: "IF YOU WANT TO HEAL OR KILL SOMETHING BURNED,USE SOMETHING COLD!!!iT MAKES MORE SENSE DOESN'T IT?
