Re: Hernia op, pain persists
Well 2nd trip to PT didn't go to well, had panic attack sun nite. Mon appt: was very upset, did relaxation stuff, massage helped calm me down, but she feels I am too uptight to work with right now need to see someone, so went to shrink said have high anxiety and mild depression, put me on cymbalta, 30 mg, than 60 mg after 4 days, has some pain stuff in it, also PT wants me to talk to someone that she will speak too, before we go on. I spoke to my uro who feels I am doing the right thing, that med will help overall. He is a great guy caring and I can call him any time on cell phone, feels that my main problem of burning after urination, and spasm before may be something to check, wants only if I want to do cysto in hosp to check everything but willing to wait to see how I feel in a couple of weeks, only have burning, slight testicle pain, still 5 weeks from hernia, could burning be from something else.

Re: Hernia op, pain persists
I remember at my worst when I called a uro to get a cystoscopy because of my fear that I had a narrowing or blockage. The day before could barely piss and burning discomfort was rough to say the least. Then the next day it was as if I never had a problem...wax and wane here...Did the cystoscopy and everything looked normal structurally. My point is the peace of mind knowing nothing serious was involved allowed me to relax and go full force into my protocol.

I encourage anxiety prone UCPPS people to consider L-Theanine
Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.

Carl, watch out with Naproxen and CPPS.It gave me IBS on top of CPPS.
Ray,did you felt the hernia protruding out of your abdomen when you was diagnose?
I also have inguinal pressure but I have sigmoid colon dysmotility pushing on the inguinal canals.
PAINFUL
