Xmas time and all the bloody alcohol

Post by graeme »

this time of year is the time I struggle most, parties get togethers etc sometime an excuse not to go is better than facing everyone drunk and myself sipping a beer waiting for a tingle in the prostate to start a flare

still I'm on the Vodka this xmas  before I resign to coke  wish me luck !

anyone else find this time harder :?:

PS

The cold dont help either

Worst flare in last few years was a dip in the sea
Age:33 | Onset Age:19 | Symptoms:burning urethra, deep sore stinging around the perineum, dribbling | Helped By:when flare starts deep relaxing over a toilet to let out dribbling urine, hot bath, rubbing a heat cream on the perineum, Tens with a pad on the perineum, running, medication (solpadol) for pain. Current treatment: PT. | Worsened By:sitting, stressing over it, ejaculation, sometimes alcohol but I risk it. Been feeling a lot better last 6 months about 85% with a few flares lasting about 5 days. No longer having PT. Stretching every other night and I believe time is also a big factor for me

I've always found this time of year difficult (even before CPPS), but I did make the mistake of trying to drink through it last year - aaargh! I will be trying the Vodka Protocol :-D at some point, but I'm going to wait until things settle down a bit more. Good luck with it.

I think I've managed to miss the office Xmas do this year by being signed off. Ha ha! I win!

There does seem to be some here from last years post regarding Xmas, the holidays and more stress and anxiety kicking up. I think it's common for us who can't really enjoy any alchohol with out wondering if it's going to irritate and having a more anxious disposition.

For me I really enjoy this time because I have small children who really light up over the whole Santa and xmas spirit. This really allows me to get out of my self and live through my children. I have been able to enjoy red wine and vodka with what seems to be little or no irritation. So I just take it slow and easy and I'm grateful for my family and friends.

Happy Holidays to all....Cheers :-D

Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.

ok guys I had a good drink last night 3 beers (stupid of me) felt a little discomfort after my first pee

Moved on to vodka had 3 or 4 felt ok  but was worrying in case of flare :62_58_40:

Anyway all went ok no flare but today after first pee which was very concentrated had a small flare :boom: which went after 15 mins

one thing I did notice and often get when drinking is during the evening and today got an ache in the testes and back of legs  not to painful and my pain meds (solpadol) wipe it out easy :icon1:

Got one more party to attend where I won't take any beer just vodka and will hope to have a pain free night and next day :eye-popin:

Ps is was great to be a little drunk and feel normal :icon_smile_lachuh:

I hope just vodka works out for you Graeme. That 'normal' feeling can't be undervalued - it feels great.

I was out the Friday before last and got absolutely trousered. I had intended to stay out for the meal and a few drinks and head home about 10.00 because I was feeling a bit tired and a bit sorer than usual however I ended up as one of the last four men standing munching a kebab at half three in the morning. Strange thing was that my chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome symptoms wilted under the onslaught of booze and retreated to a non-existent place. Of course, I suffered a bit for a few days - nothing too major but I think that was more to do with the flu I caught than the booze up.

I have on office do on Friday - got to go as I'm the manager - which should be fairly bloody and then I'm off the sauce until end of January aside from perhaps a wee sherry at the bells. :-D
Age 56: Onset 2006 and bouts on and off since then. See posts for details.

I think the kebab is key in this

Whenever I tie a good one on, I completely forget about my CPPS, the tension goes away and I piss like a champ. But, unfortunately, we can't spend our days plowed....Unlike you I dont experience anything worse the next couple days, usually the next days is a pretty nice feeling, then by the night time it starts to tighten up again. I dont like drinking as its counter-productive to my goals and bodybuilding, but sometimes I tie a good one on for the relaxing effects. Thats what makes me think I still stress over tons of things, but I dont know I'm doing it.
