I was doing some research on permeability and mast cells and stumbled on this information on a particular hormone called UROCORTIN, which blew me away a bit.
Urocortin is related to corticotropin-releasing hormone, and both are released in the brain under stress where they stimulate CRH 1 and 2 receptors. Outside the brain, they may have proinflammatory actions through activation of mast cells, which are located perivascularly close to nerve endings and degranulate in response to acute psychological stress.

OK so in simple mind terms what would be a pre-treatment w/ H1 receptor
What could we take that would be a mast cell stabilizor that contains Cromolyn
This all falls right in w/ pelvic myoneuropathy and neurogenic inflammation , right

I encourage anxiety prone UCPPS people to consider L-Theanine Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.
We had hypothesized that stressors in the subjects studied may have been involved in the high intrauterine CRH/Ucn (Corticotrophin-Releasing Hormone/Urocortin) we reported (1). However, that study did not attempt to investigate the extent and type of stressors that are the subject matter of a large ongoing study. A case in point is interstitial cystitis, a sterile bladder condition with frequency, nocturia, and pelvic pain (7) characterized by bladder mastocytosis (8), the symptoms of which worsen during stress (9). In an animal model of this condition, acute restraint stress induced bladder mast cell activation (10). It is, therefore, of interest that in a survey of 100 interstitial cystitis patients, the incidence of first time and habitual abortions was extremely high (11).

Circles back to that landmark Chrousos paper that Dr. Dimitrakov presented to the forum in late 90s.
Dr. Theoharadies, Buffington, and others have also since reached conclusion that CRH/Urocortin are central basis.
Neurocrine Biosciences has several of these antagonists in trials, including one for IBS/Anxiety that's being held at UCLA. Sure be nice to get one for CPPS.
