PSA Test And Bloodwork
Back in Jan 03 I was diagnosed by my doctor with Prostatitis. I've been to see him several times in the last few months, and I've also now seen a Urologist. Neither one of these doctors have done any type of bloodwork on me at all. Since there is an obvious problem with my prostate, would'nt it be a good idea to have a PSA test done and a blood panel just to see where I stand?

I'm in the same boat - go to the doc, he wants to prescribe antibiotics every time without even testing to see if they are necessary or appropriate... *sigh* its so frustrating :x
Anyone know any good uros in Scotland ? I would at least like some sort of test to see once and for all what I do actually have

Your local NHS urologist is best to just get bog standard tests as that's *all* you will get anywhere else in Scotland believe me I have done the rounds! Your GP should have sent you to a Urologist by now if you have continuing symptoms.
You should have had the basic tests, all Scottish (UK) Urologist can at least do that for you! Treat you probably not very good if you have chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome but I see no reason why they can't at least diagnose chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome when they see it.
In the register of specialist subjects urologist (and all doctors) in Scotland are into published free in The Herald not one urologist has under his name IC or CPPS!
