My story

Post by Paul28 »

1.5 years ago I had unprotected sex. 1 week after that I had servere pain in my testicle, urinary frequency, bad odour of urine and mild back pain. I went to the local GP who reffered me to an urologist who gave me the diagnos prostatitis. Also the test test came back negative for bacteria. I also noticed for the first time in my life a degree of ED.
However the doctor prescribed some antibiotics, Cipro and doxy which made me feel better. However my symptoms were better while on abx and as soon as I stopped my testicle began to hurt again and the frequency came back.
I also did a semen analysis which revealed very low sperm count with bad motility certainly not normal for a 22 year old. However I got rid of the testicle pain with a course of trimmetroprim. But my erections and libido was like a 100year old man. I went to different doctors which were unable to help me and explain what was wrong with me.

Now a year later I still suffer from ED and urinary frequency which just dont seem to go away. The strange thing is that I dont suffer any type of pain at all, just mild discomfort and the discomfort seems to be worse when I am around girls. Also my semen has become much thicker I sometimes thinks it looks like glue and it is ejaculted with no force at all, just dribbling out. After reading the post here it seems like I dont fit intp this category however I still wanted to posy to see if ther is anyone that reqognises my condition.. I have often thought that maby I suffer from bacterial infections but I have tried the most antibiotics from 3-6 weeks courses. I know some people claim longer treatment duration but I dont know. I am not sure what to do next, I have noticed that people claim that problems will resolve on its own in due time but I just feel like that not going to happen in my case. Cause everyday is just the same, I dont have any flares or that kind of stuff everyday is just as bad and therefore I find it hard to believe that this will go away on its own.
I was just wondering if anyone reqognise themselves in my story, and if there is someone that maby have any suggestions.

Am I right to say that the only thing you have tried is antibiotics?

Yes this is the onle thing I have tried. The doctors have also prescribed NSAID but without much affect. I suppsose since there is just the webmaster that have answeared my post that most of you dont recognize my situation. I am all with you that this does not sound like classic chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome but there is something wrong down there and I was just wondering if anyone out here could give me a little help. I'm not a doc, but from my own experience and what I have read, your symptoms may very well be from CP/CPPS. There is a lot of speculations about the causes and treatments for this condition. This web site is a good source for information, so you should spend some time reading about CP/CPPS here to be able to better decide what to do next.

Thanks for you post. I certainly will try to read as much as possible.
However I just wanted to know if someone experience similar problems as me and what can be done. I have already tried antibiotics and they just seem to help while on them. However I was thinking of Quercetin or something but it seems that this product is just for pain related condition which I dont have. I just have minor discomfort, frequency and ED, is this CPPS?

Well here it is
It feels like my prostate is congested in some sort of way. When I ejaculate it jus dribbles out in wads with less volume, dont have any pain upon ejaculation though. I also feel some sort of numbness in the penis and it seems that I have lost the contact between brain and genitals. Also I suffer servere ED. This does not sound like chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome or what do you think? I suppose since you run this board that you have heard a lot of different stories so I thought that you might know.
Also if you read my previous post, my ED has been consistent since things started.

No, that doesn't sound like typical CP/CPPS. In your case there seems to be a neurological problem leading to ED and weak ejaculation. I don't know much about what could be causing your problem. Were you by any chance an avid bike rider?

In any even, you should see a few urologists and maybe neurologists. ED at your age is not normal.

Sometimes my semen is thicker, almost gluey in substance as well. Is this not an accumulation of dead white blood cells?

Dear Paul28,

I have heard of similar symptoms as your in CP sufferers. The ED is rather common as a problem associated with CP.

I myself experience some sort of numbness on the tip of penis - it is rather popular, too.

About the sperm I have heard the same story from a friend with CP.

So my advice is to visit a CP specialist, as generally speaking most urologists do not have much expertise into CP.

Best regards,

Desp

I disagree. ED and weak ejaculation in the absence of pain is not CP/CPPS. You must keep in mind that PAIN is the hallmark sign of our condition, by definition. There are many other things that can go wrong down there that have nothing to do with CP/CPPS. Beware of becoming the man whose only tool is a hammer, so he sees all problems as nails!

Dear Webmaster:

It is quite hard to understand what Paul means by the "pain gone" and replaced with "minor discomfort". I suppose that the latter may be just another way for describing the pain-related feeling.
1 week after that I had servere pain in my testicle, urinary frequency, bad odour of urine and mild back pain.

However my symptoms were better while on abx and as soon as I stopped my testicle began to hurt again and the frequency came back.

The strange thing is that I dont suffer any type of pain at all, just mild discomfort and the discomfort seems to be worse when I am around girls.

I just have minor discomfort, frequency and ED, is this CPPS
You have to bear in mind that everything else is too common:
1. urinary symptoms
2. numbness in penis
3. ED
4. occurrence of testicular pain, though in the past and maybe not related to present situation
5. discomfort

Much of the time I do not have pain either - just discomfort. But you cannot convince me that I suffer from sth else. I feel the numbness in the penis, too.

One have to take in mind that his condition improved while on abx, and worsened upon stopping them.

Therefore I strongly reccommend visit to a well-established CP/CPPS specialist. I do not think that this can harm in any way - regular urologists are not into that disease very much.

Best regards,

Desp

I really have not had any pain either. More a feeling of discomfort, fullness, dragging etc. A few times a very slight quick pain in a testicle - but not pain anywhere else. The closest thing would be a slight ache in the perineum/rectum area if I sat on a chair for too long.

If pain is not my general symptom (frequency and fullness are), then might I have something else?

Sorry for all the questions, still very confused
