continued testicular pain

Post by ramana »

I am running out of ideas on how to tackle this. Still bed ridden with the pain in the left testicle that started post ejaculation after a semen test when boggy seminal vesicles were detected.
I have done all pathological tests - color doppler for scrotal , trans rectal sonography. Also checked for trigger points in abdominal obliques / glutes (as mentioned in the HITP). Also in anterior levator ani (where I have had problems). Also checked for varicocele etc.
Anyone of any doctors / or any experiences. The pain is continuous and increases on walking. Nerves are the only suspect right now but I don't (and the doctors also) have an idea on how to find out. Am just waiting for a chance to get a nerve conduction study then but I have to force docs to consider that and I am told that they are somewhat unreliable anyway

If I were you and this thing had me bed ridden, Id figure a way to get to see Tim and Dr. Wise, even if I had to charge the whole damn trip. I was never bed ridden and that's the course I took. Its all paid off now and I dont miss that money, but I do enjoy healing.

I wish I could offer more.

Good Luck,

I was bedridden for months at my very worst. I remember that walking around a shopping centre would result in so much general pain in my pelvis that I had to walk very, very slowly back to my car. Sound familiar?
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

I have already done the clinic with Dr Wise and Tim in July. Have been faithfully practising Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol. Other than that I am at the end of the road. Cleveland and Columbia are are remaining though
.
Yes webslave the symptoms are all familiar. I gotta congratulate you on having survived that. For all the pain I gotta bear - God gifted me with a divorce case also. So gotta handle that while I am bed ridden. Paradoxical relaxation helps though.

Is the pain coming from the testicle itself, or the epidytimis?

well depending on the time of the day it can appear to be from either of the places. The most it appears to come from is when the top where it connects to the pubic bone is squeezed. There is nothing but spermatic cord there...

Thanks for the response. How did the find a cyst. I have already done color doppler for the scrotal and multiple physical examinations by different urologists. No pathology was detected.
I went to a colorectal surgeon today who pressed and found trigger points on the left side levator ani which had been independenlty confirmed by other physiotherapists
He said two interesting things
a) One cannot reach levator ani muscles by oneself. Need another person to do it
b) Levator ani cannot refer pain to testicles

Any comments?
Note that the colorectal surgeon is unaware of the trigger point theory so am not very sure he understands. But his reasoning was very logical.

I have read this article earlier also but the continued pain made me look at this closely again. Despite that I cannot understand the article in full. My main question is - Does the symphysis pubis joint can be looked at by a physical therapist. What kind of doctor does this examination and where do I find him / her

I think you can reach it by sitting on a toilet and using your gloved, lubricated middle finger and go between your legs from the front and lean forward.

At least this is how I do self internal work. When you were at Stanford, didn't Tim work with you to show you at home treatment? That's the biggest part of SP according to Dr. Wise himself when I spoke with Him. It's the home treatment and doing self internal work to reach all those places or having your partner help?

I encourage anxiety prone UCPPS people to consider L-Theanine
Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.

Sorry should have done a little more research. Symphisis pubis dysfunction seems to be treated by chiropractor or oestopath. Don't have access to anyone until I return to US. Catch 22

I also can reach my levators by doing the in between legs method and leaning forward, also standing but not as well. It can be done.....

I doubt it is this, but, the way it was found was by the doctor moving the testicle around in his hand, and you could feel the actual cyst on the side of the testes, was so painful couldnt touch it, was worse in cold weather, and when walking.

When you were at the clinic, what did Tim Sawyer say about your TrPs? Did he find any that referred ?
